hmm update. i am getting this bug again. it occurs with all external harddisks, pen drives, interal harddisks (like my windows partition). nautilius shows all these drives but gives error in mounting hence cant open them. one workaround is that always when starting the system if i select the earlier kernel ie 2.6.31-13 i think it always works perfectly and then restart and select the latest kernel ie -14 (maybe it was -12 working and -13 problematic but which ever is latest is problematic) it works the first time. but then if i restart again then it wont work with the latest kernel. this is why i am now preferinng to boot into earlier kernel itself. the bug is weird indeed. pls tell me what other info i can provide. it seems there might be some similarity with https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/518533. -- No longer authorized to mount USB disks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518345 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

hmm doesnt work. here's what happens. 1. after adding that information, in banshee it still says "Supports playlists:no" and cant do anything in banshee. 2. In rhythmbox, it now does allow me to create playlists, and i created a new one say "praveen" and added some songs, then when i disconnect my blackberry and use my phone's music player , it shows the new playlists it even shows the song names in the playlists correctly but it shows all songs as of length 00:00 and cant play them. it's like it is not able to find the files i guess. 3. then after creating playlist using the phone's music player say "bb" and then connecting to rythmbox and opening the phone it shows a playlist as bb.m3u. but again in rhythmbox the playlist comes as completely empty and doesn't show any of the songs i added to it via the phone. also this time the "praveen" playlist wasn't displayed in rhythmbox. thanks. -- blackberry pearl does support playlists and album art https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/485486 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 33288] Re: Evince doesn't handle columns properly
I really hope that this bug is fixed for Lucid by Ubuntu people as it will probably not be fixed by evince folks in time for lucid. This is a really annoying bug and one that really brings down the usefulness of evince a lot. to just put into perspective how annoying this bug is, this same feature was added in OSX for Leopard release and it's release page lists new feature and this feature was also amongst the few features highlighted. -- Evince doesn't handle columns properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/33288 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 33288] Re: Evince doesn't handle columns properly
@Brian are there any problems with comitting this patch in it's current form. I mean any known regressions? else we should just include it in ubuntu's evince for now atleast and then revert back at beta 2 or something if something goes wrong. Because from what u say it is going to be a long while before this gets fixed upstream. @Arand Am now using your ppa and things going to be going well. Re: [Bug 428509] Re: Do not suppress async notifications when using fullscreen apps
While it is too late to do anything about this in the Karmic cycle, I must protest the way this issue was handled. First, this issue was discussed in Ayatana in detail. And a sensible conclusion that everyone seemed to come to after discussing all possible cases was DND mode + not hiding notifications in fullscreen apps by default. But yet, it seems the developers didn't heed this advice and then turned off notifications without giving user with a DND mode. Re: [Bug 428509] Re: Do not suppress async notifications when using fullscreen apps
I think mac_v makes correct points. This bug should be given high priority and resolved ASAP Imho else it will become a really big annoyance of karmic. I really dont understand why it was decided to go for this behaviour in the first place. In ayatana ml this topic was discussed in detail and the decision reached was *Show notifications by default in fullscreen apps *Have a DND mode where notifications are not sent. If all this could not have been done for karmic, then the issue should not have been touched at all. In conclusion, missing IM's,emails, etc while watching movies, etc is a use case which is more concerning and something which is likely to happen more often to more no. of users. rather than the pretty limited use case of someone giving a presentation while having IM enabled. I would also recommend elevating the importance of this bug from Low to Medium. Try testing it on a computer with 512mb memory or less and see what happens. In comparison the minimum system requirements are set to 384mb RAM (see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements). [Bug 487947] Re: fingerprint reader/webcam found message post install
i disagree. though i am not a coder i think that this is a small bug which can be easily fixed by sending out a notification when the new hardware is detected for first time. and it is a usability issue as many people dont know that their fingerprint reader/ webcam is detected and working in linux. the notification might also tell user how to set it up/ or start using it. it will definetely improve the overall expeerience. and many people to switch to linux from windows miss this feature. -- fingerprint reader/webcam found message post install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/487947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Please dont change the behaviour of instantaneous change when clicking on the wallpaper and even if u still introduce a delay make it not more than 1 sec so that we never even realize a delay exists. if the concern is that current wallpaper is lost then maybe a apply changes button could be present in the dialog where after all changes are previewed it can be clicked to apply forever else just exit without any modifications. -- Users should "apply" a wallpaper to have it changed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
