[Bug 386469] [NEW] system does not boot correct after bios update
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix on an Asus Aspire One (AOA 150). After i installed the latest Bios (3310) the System does not start correct anymore. The boot-process stops while loading the hardware drivers with the following error: * Loading hardware drivers udevd-event[1280]: '/sbin/modprobe -b dmi:bvnAcer:bvrv0.3310:bd10/06/2008:bd10/06/2008:svnAcer:pnAOA150:pvr1:rvnAcer:rn:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnChassisManufacturer:ct1:cvr:ChassisVersion:' abnormal exit After pressing 'ctrl-alt-del' the system continues booting but very slow. Then an error message appears that the X-server couldn't be loaded. Downgrading the Bios to version 3309 resolves the problem. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: acer aspire bios boot netbook one remix -- system does not boot correct after bios update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386469 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 155216] Re: network-manager fails to stop properly when connected to wireless
Same Problem here. But it seems that this problem doesn't only appear when i'm connected with a wireless network. The reboot or shutdown- process takes several minutes but in the end it shuts the system down or reboots. This problem doesn't only appear when i remove my wifi-card (3com OfficeConnect 3CRSHPW196) the system shuts down properly. I have a second wifi-card (Corega something - a brand sold in Japan) and this card doesn't cause this error. Also when i disable the Network before shutdown/reboot or set the wifi-card to static-mode (uncheck the Roaming-Mode) the system shuts down/reboots without problems. I'm using the latest Hardy-Kernel (2.6.24.15-generic) stonerl Those Bugreports describe the same problem, I assume: Bug #208705 Bug #128895 Bug #138691 -- network-manager fails to stop properly when connected to wireless https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155216 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 55172] Re: gksu dies on first run
Same problem here. I'm running the latest Hardy-Aplha in an Virtualmachine (VirtualBox - OSE - 1.5.0 - gutsy repos). My machine is an Pentium3 with 1GHz and 512MB Ram. So i have 256 for the Host-System and 256 for the Guest-System (it's not what i would call fast, but it works). I just start the Hardy-Alpha in the VM and the first thing i do is, i start the update-manager an nothing happens. The update-manger doesn't proceed because he's waiting for gksu. So i have to kill the gksu-process, wait for the update-manager and press the "install update- button" again. On the second try gksu appears and everything works fine. -- gksu dies on first run https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/55172 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
