[Bug 579009] Re: go home applet changes netbook-launcher-efl to netbook-launcher regular

2010-05-13 Thread steve19137
Does this mean that a new go home applet will be written for netbook-
efl, or will your fix be the only fix?

[Bug 578286] Re: Launcher disappears after Evolution session ....

2010-05-11 Thread steve19137
i would like to add a similar issue on the same hardware. i use chrome
for my browser and geany for writing small programs. lately i would
boot, it autologs-in, and i have netbook-launcher-efl running. i really
like that better, btw. so i connect to a network, open chrome, and do my
thing. well, when i hit the home applet. it give me the regular netbook-
launcher. not what i want. i wanted to remove netbook-launcher through
synaptic, but that also removes the go home applet, so i cant do that.
please help in making the efl version default.

[Bug 579009] [NEW] go home applet changes netbook-launcher-efl to netbook-launcher regular

2010-05-11 Thread steve19137
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher-efl

dell mini 10v with upgraded 2gb of ram and ubuntu 10.04 fully updated at
the time of reporting.

i like the look of netbook-launcher-efl better than the regular version,
so ive been trying to use that more. so i followed this
(http://www.webupd8.org/2010/05/how-to-add-remove-applets-from-
gnome.html) guide to enable gnome-applet configuration, and i understand
that it just make gnome look like unr. i enabled the efl version to
load, not the regular one. i open google chrome or geany, and decide i
need to get to a file. i click the go home applet, the screen flashes,
and the regular netbook-launcher is showing, and i cant get netbook-
launcher-efl back unless i log out. this is only when i click the go
home applet. not if i minimize the window. please fix.

i have found a very good temporary solution. follow the guide in the
link i posted above, but replace the go home applet with the show
desktop applet. it works like a charm.
