Re: [Bug 570449] Re: Upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04.2, kernel 2.6.24-27-lpia wireless connection now broken

2010-04-27 Thread spalmer8
Hi Pedro,

I realized I filed the bug incorrectly when noticing all of my
proprietary drivers where missing. Can you move the bug to the
appropriate category or do I need to file a new bug? If so, would you
be so kind to send me the link to the proper category to file it in?

Thanks Much Pedro,

Stephanie

2010-04-26 Thread spalmer8
Actually this bug should be moved into an upgrade category - all drivers
are gone, webcam, sound, wireless.

Please make this a huge priority as I don't want other people who
upgrade to go through this.

Thanks Much.

Steve,

Thanks so much for comment 28! I have a Brother MFC-490CW and I made
your exact change in my file located at:
/usr/local/Brother/Printer/mfc490cw/lpd/filtermfc490cw and like magic I
could print today Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Until I read your post I
literally thought I had gone mad so thank you for giving me my sanity
back.

Take Care,

Stephanie

[Bug 446918] [NEW] inbox mail messages is evolution just vanished

2009-10-08 Thread spalmer8
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Expected:
Opened evolution to see my existing and new mail messages in my inbox -
evolution has been working as expected for months.

Actual:
Opened and only three new messages in inbox.

Details:
Evolution was working fine. I suspended my netbook, powered back up opened
evolution and only three brand new messages appear in my inbox - which had many
more before I suspended.

I may have closed evolution before suspending - I am not sure.

[Bug 880806] [NEW] Power consumption after update of acpid (1.0.10-5ubuntu2.1, 1.0.10-5ubuntu2.2)

2011-10-24 Thread spalmer8
Public bug reported:

I have a Sylvania Meso G Netbook ( Rebranded MSI Wind) that has been
performing beautifully on 8.04 and then on 10.04. Never had any issues
with power consumption or the 4 cell battery that it has.

On 10/22/2011 update manager ran and pulled in acpid (1.0.10-5ubuntu2.1,
1.0.10-5ubuntu2.2). Since then my battery cannot charge (it was working
fine) and my netbook is certainly pulling more power. Please advise
what troubleshooting steps you need from me to resolve this issue before
my netbook becomes fried.

I tried this via synaptic and saw no difference which made me think
maybe some conf / properties file had been changed and was not reverted
when I switched back.

Would you know, what configuration options I should have set in my
grub.conf such as apci=force, etc?

Truthfully, before this update, I am not sure I was using ACPI, I think
maybe I was using APM.
