[Bug 529948] [NEW] F-Spot crashes immediately after start
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot This bug is similar to other "F-Spot Crash" event logged already. However, I tried running F-Spot from console, and found errors I have been receiving are different than given in support forums. Complete removal and re-install did not help either. [Bug 1714154] [NEW] chrome fails to load facebook images and videos
Public bug reported: I am reporting this bug on behalf of José Tello Leon. So these are his exact words as on facebook. "Hello there, i've been using ubuntu since last year and i've never had problems in google chrome, but since last friday I can't play facebook videos only. Also, after some minutes of using fb, images stop showing. It's not internet issues, i can play videos in youtube normally I'm using ubuntu 16.04 LTS" So basically Leon is unable to play any videos using the facebook player in chrome. [Bug 1418777] Re: cannot connect to WPA and WPA-2 enterprise network
The problem as I have faced earlier is due to unsupported protocols in the earlier version though now you can simply connect to it. [Bug 902548] Re: apt: add option to compress files in /var/lib/apt/lists
Though this is not a bug,i like this idea as it could save some diskspace. I once had 700 mb of database cache as I never knew that with every update i.e "sudo apt update",the database would get updated and sync and just dump the new one.Never ever the old and not needed would still exist as memory hog. Though now days I clean the cache aka "sudo apt clean" every week. The process could be like apt first gets the new update, then as soon as it reaches 99% it compress the copy in a file named apt_[date:time].zip. Then it would perform any additional task if required. When every thing is over it would remove the uncompressed files(flat file). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902548 Title: apt: add option to compress files in /var/lib/apt/lists To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/902548/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 312367] [NEW] Xfce Desktop Manager + Display Issues
Public bug reported: Hi, i have upgraded to the Intrepid Ibex of late and i am facing constant issues with the desktop manager on every login. This is what happens +++ 1. there is no background/wallpaper display 2. the manager doesn't load at times. I have to explicitly go to the settings and start it 3. even when the explicit start is issued, the screen blanks out 4. ntfs disks are not mounted , but if an external ntfs disk is connected, it auto mounts This is what i have tried + 1. added xfce-desktop and xfce manager in auto start applications 2. tinkered with fstab for auto mount Sporadic behavior noticed. +++ When i first upgraded to 8.10, the kernel version was 2.6.x.x.7 , on an update it turned 2.6.x.x.9. I had copied the files in /var/cache/apt/archives to another folder on my external hard drive so as to keep a copy of the updates in case the OS crashes due to some reason. I then install grub-splashimages and startupmanager and installed a grub image to the system. I cross checked if the image was applied in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file and reloaded. I did comment out the earlier versions of the kernel available on the system before reloading it Observed Behavior + Except for the windows option, all other options when selected would bring me back to the grub again. [Bug 312367] Re: Xfce Desktop Manager + Display Issues
well, all this works when the desktop manager is working as expected - which more often than not, it doesnt. I have added xfdesktop in the auto start applications, but still it doesn't work, there is no wallpaper display, I have to add it everytime - explicitly. Sometimes the background is blue, icons come up after the display is set to allow xfce to manage desktop Once the desktop and icons are visible - everything else works as normal. -- Xfce Desktop Manager + Display Issues https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312367 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 892840] Re: Media players crash Banshee in Ubuntu 11.10
Problem started after music library from a NTFS mount was added, the software became non-responsive and thus had to be killed. Since then the banshee player does not lauch, so using Rhythmbox instead, but that gives issues too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/892840 Title: Media players crash Banshee in Ubuntu 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/892840/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
