I'm also affected by this bug. Some Pdfs displays correctly in evince but preview or printing don't display some polices and most pages are blank. Same pdf prints correctly in 10.04. Public bug reported: Problems with installing this package on Ubuntu 13.10 Server. I reinstalled serveral times the whole server and it still not works. I thougt that it would work on this server.
