[Bug 635706] [NEW] Grub2 grub-pc doesn't find good Array in raid device

2010-09-11 Thread sebastien.rey
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

With the last upgrade on maverick, i have problem to upgrade my grub2,
it seem grub-prob not recognize my raid, and the device on the raid :/

I have raid on two disk /sda and /sdb , my computer is dell m6500 Q820

My habitual choice is _ARRAY , /dm0 which point on the abstract raid
device (see the screenshoot of upgrade box of grub2) ... grub-prob
doesn't find ...

So i'm trying to choice an another option in menu, like /dm6 on RAID
ARRAY6, but same problem ...

After each choice terminal says :
/usr/sbin/grub-probe error: cannot find a GRUB drive for
/dev/mapper/blablabla_ARRAY6: check your device.map

I'm retrying with a total purge on grub2 + grub-pc, then reinstall, but same
problem

My grub2 boot is broken since this update, i'm booting on maverick with
super grub on usb disk :/

[Bug 635706] Re: Grub2 grub-pc doesn't find good Array in raid device

2010-09-11 Thread sebastien.rey
New update :

device.map is not, so i create a new device.map with cmd : sudo grub-
mkdevicemap --no-floppy

The device map created :

(hd0) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST9500420ASG_5VJ4LQ5W
(hd1) /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST9500420ASG_5VJ4M2E5
(hd2) /dev/disk/by-id/usb-SanDisk_Cruzer_077473112A402A57-0:0
(hd3) /dev/mapper/isw_cjffbfddic_ARRAY

I don't understand where is the problem, because
/dev/mapper/isw_cjffbfddic_ARRAY is my goal when i want to install grub2 boot,
so why grub-probe says one error about ARRAY6 ?! (my location for /)
I'm trying to add a (hd4) with array6 ..

[Bug 630726] [NEW] grub2 says "Symbol '` not found" then launch is aborted

2010-09-05 Thread sebastien.rey
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

First bug report, and bug is not easy to describe :

I'm using Ubuntu maverick (development branch)
@Release:   10.10

I'm using a dell m6500, with Q820

Package is "possibly ?" grub2:
  Installé : (aucun)
  Candidat : 1.98+20100804-4ubuntu4
 Table de version :
 1.98+20100804-4ubuntu4 0
500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/universe amd64
Packages

After upgrading lucid to maverick beta, i have this error at each PC
restart, juste before grub2 boot choice :

Symbol `' not found.Aborted.
Press key to exit

So i press a key and grub2 launch and now i can choose an option.
