[Bug 469481] [NEW] Rhythmbox visualizations appear frozen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Visualizations appear to -start- in Ubuntu 9.10's version of Rhythmbox, but on my system they only get as far as a single frame and don't display any more than that. Rhythmbox itself does not appear to be crashing as visualizations can be turned back off and on again, but they'll never actually appear in motion. This was not an issue on the same system running 9.04. ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Nov 1 17:31:42 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/rhythmbox InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: rhythmbox 0.12.5-0ubuntu4 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: rhythmbox Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Rhythmbox visualizations appear frozen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469481 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 411941] Re: f-spot.exe crashes when using new wave theme

You must explicitly end the data stream to the loader before dropping the last reference. The program 'f-spot' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. [Bug 466389] Re: totem hangs when try to play DVD
I'm already _looking_ at a DVD issue. DVD's won't _PLAY_ in Karmic. I'm beginning to regret ever having replied to this bug in the first place, I might as well wait until 10.04. -- totem hangs when try to play DVD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Oh, well I'm truly sorry that the bug I had to report just isn't important enough for anyone to pay attention to. [Bug 357462] Re: arpwatch uses 100% cpu when net disconnects on laptop
I can confirm that this bug exists in Karmic's version of arpwatch as well. Steps to reproduce: 1) start arpwatch running (or install it, it's started automatically if you do) 2) disable networking to your PC via the NetworkManager applet and re-enable it 3) check top, arpwatch is now using up 100% CPU in the background and continues to do so until restarted -- arpwatch uses 100% cpu when net disconnects on laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357462 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 466389] Re: totem hangs when try to play DVD
Well hello again Sebastien :> Again I'm reporting on a bug that also affects me, in 9.10 DVD's are completely unplayable (9.04 they worked correctly), and it's -again- an upstream issue that shouldn't be reported here? Exactly what showstopper bugs in Karmic _ARE_ we allowed to report? And when can we expect them to be fixed, 10.04 perhaps? "Report it upstream" is _NOT_ a solution, particularly when the same media player under other distributions doesn't _HAVE_ the same problem. Is the bug going to be assigned to somebody or is it just going to be ignored? -- totem hangs when try to play DVD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 469481] Re: Rhythmbox visualizations appear frozen
I've reported the bug upstream, Sebastien, just like I have the other ones. No answer there yet either. I guess if it's not an Ubuntu issue and it's not an upstream issue then I must be imagining that it doesn't work? :> -- Rhythmbox visualizations appear frozen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469481 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Well, since you asked, I tested it out in Fedora's rawhide (which is using Gnome 2.28) and they played just fine. Thousands of bugs waiting there and few people, thousands of bugs waiting here and few people. Hmm. And just to make it clear, the process you're now asking me to follow is: report it here, report it upstream, report the upstream bug -back- here, ???, profit? :P Sure, I'll humour you: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=600465 As you can see, nobody was of any help _there_ either. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #600465 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=600465 -- Rhythmbox visualizations appear frozen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469481 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If you hadn't noticed I wasn't even the first person to report this bug, so it's not just my installation. [Bug 466389] Re: totem hangs when try to play DVD
Well how about we just keep the conversation simple and ask one question -- this bug prevents DVD's of any type being played in Karmic. Is it going to be fixed in Karmic or not? I checked the automatically generated list of SRU's, this one isn't on it even though a community member has PROVIDED a patch that has been confirmed as working for several users. [Bug 651678] Re: crashes with assertion failure on startup
The /usr/share/icons/default.kde4/index.theme does not fix anything in my case. [Bug 659112] Re: Fluidsynth-dssi plugin generates loud white-noise
I can confirm that this bug exists with fluidsynth-dssi in Ubuntu 10.10, 64-bit edition. So is this going to remain broken for Maverick or will there be an official update?
