[Bug 269651] Re: console-kit-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in g_str_hash()
I think this problem might not be resolved quite yet, as I can reproduce it, and I have the patched version of consolekit (0.2.10-1ubuntu9) installed. It doesn't happen right away upon boot, but it only takes a few minutes of running the system under load (8 kvm processes; 8 cpus), before console-kit-daemon segfaults. From then on (until the system is next rebooted), logging in on the console as root and then logging out again causes console-kit-daemon to segfault, and that console does not then display a login prompt. The system in question: lsb_release -rd ; uname -a ; apt-cache policy linux consolekit linux-image-server gnome-terminal apport-gtk sudo libpam0g Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 Linux vulcan 2.6.27-9-server #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 22:56:07 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux linux: Installed: (none) Candidate: 2.6.27.9.13 Version table: 2.6.27.9.13 0 500 http://debian intrepid-security/restricted Packages 500 http://debian intrepid-updates/restricted Packages 2.6.27.7.11 0 500 http://debian intrepid/restricted Packages consolekit: Installed: 0.2.10-1ubuntu9 Candidate: 0.2.10-1ubuntu9 Version table: *** 0.2.10-1ubuntu9 0 500 http://debian intrepid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status linux-image-server: Installed: 2.6.27.9.13 Candidate: 2.6.27.9.13 Version table: *** 2.6.27.9.13 0 500 http://debian intrepid-security/main Packages 500 http://debian intrepid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.6.27.7.11 0 500 http://debian intrepid/main Packages gnome-terminal: Installed: (none) Candidate: 2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1

[Bug 189027] [NEW] Spurious "POINT 1" debug output from python-eyed3
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eyed3 The version of python-eyed3 in gutsy has some debugging code in it that should not be there. Specifically, lines 557-558 and 1266-1267 of tag.py look like this: # FIXME print "POINT #1" The result being that using this library results in "POINT #1" or "POINT #2" getting printed out to stdout. This was reported as a bug to debian in 2006: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=401444 and has not been fixed. It'd be great if it could be. ** Affects: eyed3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Spurious "POINT 1" debug output from python-eyed3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/189027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 673845] [NEW] snd-*-oss modules are not present, so this package does nothing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: oss-compat The kernel ALSA-OSS compatibility layer seems not to be being built for maverick kernels. I'd really love to have it back (if they haven't removed it upstream), but in the mean time, this means the oss-compat package is broken. Particularly ugly since the package description says that it's there to fix the "cannot open /dev/dsp" problem for confused new users... a bunch of warnings about failed modprobes seems like the kind of thing that would further confuse new users. [Bug 579300] Re: Please disable CONFIG_SOUND_OSS* and CONFIG_SND_*OSS*
Yet another person who would really like to see this put back in, if only as modules that aren't loaded by default. padsp doesn't work for everything. Particularly it doesn't work for /dev/sequencer, so anything that is attempting to speak MIDI to the sound card via OSS is now left stranded. This change also broke the "oss-compat" package in universe. Would really, really like to see this change reverted. -- Please disable CONFIG_SOUND_OSS* and CONFIG_SND_*OSS* https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
