Dell laptop Latitude D800: OK Dell laptop Latitude D600 x3: OK ALtima AMD 800 custom desktop: OK btw, I used the launchpad Firefox plugin, works great. Oh, yah! Sweet! Thank you Michael Vogt the "do-release-upgrade -m desktop" did the trick. I still don't understand why the GUI update manager got stuck.
