I don't see which git repositories correspond to these deb files. Could
you point it out to me where the git repos are for these builds?

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.7.10-raring/

I did not found a repo with the tags as written in the COMMIT files.

[Bug 1204604] Re: panic during boot – 3.8.0-26

2013-08-08 Thread payload
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected raring

** Description changed:

  Hi,

  I attached screenshots of the panic.

  on 13.04 during boot, somewhere during starting of /etc/init/ services kernel
3.8.0-19 and 3.8.0-26 panics. I made a quick search but didn't found a related
report. Though I found a quick fix in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1144322
  I installed 3.7.0 as mentioned in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1144322/comments/23
  to keep on working.

  I can't use `ubuntu-bug linux` cause I can't boot with the panicing
  kernel.

  * Boot never succeeds
  * but sometimes it shows a panic trace
  * sometimes it flickers to black or to frozen mouse pointer like shown in
vid.mp4
  * once it showed a panic trace and after some seconds it printed even more
screen filling stack trace, and when again even more

  Though I spotted panics with 3.8.0-19, I only did screenshots and
  multiple boots with 3.8.0-26.

  This is new, introduced since do-release-upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04
  yesterday.

  Please contact me when I can provide more information.

Answer of Support: "The BIOS version that you are running is more current that
the one currently
available on the website for the NP530U3C series."

So this wasn't helping. I will ask again for the exact version string
and find a copy of windows and some room and patience to get it
installed and stuff…

[Bug 1054776] Re: Don't include remote searches in the home lens

2012-09-23 Thread payload
I suggest a opt-in with a privacy protection notice.

- to prevent accidental leakage of local information (file paths)
  - have a separate search bar for online searches
  - a local filter won't make it, cause an error in the file path (typing
"secrez-filename" won't exactly match locally, but some fuzzy matching online
would alarm some special person "oh, where is a 'secret-filename'!")

- to inform the user what data is shared with others
  - pop up a notice about what, who, why (the obvious needs to be told) etc.
  - if he wants it or not ("no" and "yes")
  - consequences in case of clicking "no"
  - a link to the third party (amazon) privacy agenda
  - required by german law (especially cause its commercial? would need to look
that up)
  - a checkbox somewhere to revoke

- granularity and configurability is your judgement

[Bug 1166979] [NEW] installation breaks on missing file /etc/java-6-openjdk/security/nss.cfg

2013-04-09 Thread payload
Public bug reported:

I use Ubuntu Quantal.
I noticed that pidgin still won't accept a valid cert issued by CA Cert
(jabber.ccc.de).

Reproduce:

* don't have java-6-openjdk-jre-headless installed
* reinstall ca-certificates

Effect:

* it will complain about missing file /etc/java-6-openjdk/security/nss.cfg
* installation fails
* pidgin won't connect to jabber.ccc.de

Expected:

* installation succeds
* pidgin connects to jabber.ccc.de

Testing against pidgin is, I think, not necessary. The bug is, that the
installation fails. Workaround is installing java-6-openjdk-jre-headless

** Affects: ca-certificates (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Description changed:

  * it will complain about missing file /etc/java-6-openjdk/security/nss.cfg
  * installation fails
  * pidgin won't connect to jabber.ccc.de

  Expected:

  * installation succeds
  * pidgin connects to jabber.ccc.de

  Testing against pidgin is, I think, not necessary. The bug is, that the
  installation fails. Workaround is installing java-6-openjdk-jre-headless

[Bug 1173077] [NEW] syndaemon lies about its functionality, -R doesn't use XRecord

2013-04-26 Thread payload
Public bug reported:

With a friend we checked the processor wakeups of my laptop with
powertop. We spotted syndaemon. Investigating it, I found out that it
polls, although an option was set to block and wait using some XRecord
extension of X11. The option -R is also set in the current configuration
of syndaemon in 12.10. Also the man page doesn't tell one about the
deactivated -R option. I compiled it myself, with the option compiled in
(need to install libxtst-dev) and it blocked and waited like expected.
When I read about the lengthy bugreports of ancient times about polling
in syndaemon.

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-
synaptics/+bug/906987

As I understand them, X11 crashes randomly when XRecord is used. And the
chosen solution was to deactivate the usage of XRecord in syndaemon.

I am not satisfied with the situation.

* man page shouldn't list -R if it is not compiled in; it was misleading to me
* syndaemon shouldnt be started with -R, when it has no affect; it was
misleading to me
* there should be a power measurement documented somewhere which defends
polling against power drainage; the decision is weird on battery powered devices
* XRecord should be deactivated in X11; who guarantees that another app than
syndaemon comes by using XRecord?
* XRecord should be fixed in X11 (the bug description and tried fixes arent
exhaustive by far!)

[Bug 1204604] [NEW] panic during boot – 3.8.0-26

2013-07-24 Thread payload
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I attached screenshots of the panic.

on 13.04 during boot, somewhere during starting of /etc/init/ services kernel
3.8.0-19 and 3.8.0-26 panics. I made a quick search but didn't found a related
report. Though I found a quick fix in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1144322
I installed 3.7.0 as mentioned in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1144322/comments/23
to keep on working.

I can't use `ubuntu-bug linux` cause I can't boot with the panicing
kernel.

* Boot never succeeds

[Bug 897255] [NEW] RFCOMM channel 1 and automatic channel choosing broken cause of DUN

2011-11-28 Thread payload
Public bug reported:

I want to set up a bluetooth RFCOMM connection between two devices with
some script. I use python bluez bindings for that.

I discovered that setting up a server, using the first free channel, won't
throw an error but doesn't give me a reliable connection either using some code
like provided by http://people.csail.mit.edu/albert/bluez-intro/x232.html with
port = bluetooth.PORT_ANY
The first free port discovered is port 1.

After "playing" around (getting frustrated investigating possible other
mistakes or sources of error), I finally set it to port = 5 (some fixed
port > 1).

It worked. Trying to set up a second server on the same port threw an
error. Like it should.

After learning about the command "sdptool browse local" i saw, that some
DUN service occupied RFCOMM channel 1. But no one threw an error.

I did not found a file which set up the DUN service and I don't know a
method how to get the process which owns this DUN service or set it up.

I think it is an error cause choosing the first free RFCOMM channel
should just work and acquiring a already used channel should result in
an informative and unique error message. Also it would be nice to know
which process set up and owns some bluetooth service.
