[Bug 335297] Re: [jaunty] Keyboard and Mouse Frozen on Login Screen
I think I have the same issue, but it's only when I'm boot into the -rt kernel (that's 2.6.28-3-rt) When I boot into the generic (2.6.28-11-generic) kernel mouse and keyboard functionality is fine. Go in with the real-time kernel and sometimes it'll freeze straight after logging in, sometimes I might get a good 10 - 15 minutes activity before it freezes up. I know the system is still running because the system time still moves and it responds to me pressing my power button. Now I'm quite a beginner at this stuff and I've never really had any input into bug-fixing so if anyone could point me in the right direction of any logs or data that might help find a fix you'd have to walk me though it. But I'm willing to get any info required. [Bug 364530] Re: keyboard and mouse freeze after login
One more thing, I'm getting no freezes when I log into a xterm session, this is what I'm doing right now actually. Everything seems functional here, I can load firefox from the terminal etc., it's only when I go into a full gnome session when it freezes up. -- keyboard and mouse freeze after login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 364530] [NEW] keyboard and mouse freeze after login
Public bug reported: Hi, I've installed Jaunty 9.04 and Linux kernels, both 2.6.28-11-generic and the 2.6.28-3-rt and I'm having no problems with the generic kernel, but for some reason I cannot determine, the mouse and keyboard stop responding after I log in using the real-time kernel. Sometimes it's straight away, and sometimes I'll get a few minutes of functionality with the keyboard and mouse. After it freezes, I can tell the system is still running and has not completely locked up because the system time still goes, and pressing my power button on my pc still brings up the shutdown menu. As for my computer, I'm running: Intel Core 2 Quad at 2.3 ghz per core 3gb ram (well 4 but it shows on the system monitor as 3) Logitech optical mouse and and bog standard qwerty keyboard, both ps/2 Now I'm not sure where I should be looking for errors in logs and stuff, so I'd need a bit of direction in that respect.
