[Bug 391418] [NEW] [Ubuntu-X-Swat] 945GM Unable to load desktop > 2048x2048 with UXA
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel * I am using the Intel drivers from the X Swat PPA * xserver-xorg-video-intel: 2.7.1 kernel: 2.6.30 I am currently unable to load a desktop with a resolution great than 2048x2048 using UXA. I understand there is a limitation with my hardware (945GM) that means I cannot use DRI with a resolution greater than this, however with UXA enabled I cannot get a desktop at all. Error: (EE) intel(0): Cannot support DRI with frame buffer width > 2048. and am then given options to reconfigure xorg or start in low graphics mode. I have tried disabling DRI by adding the following to xorg.conf: Option "DRI" "off" However the option seems to be ignored and the same error appears. I can find no way to disable DRI and therefore get a desktop with UXA. In the past the Intel driver would simply disable DRI automatically if you requested a display >2048 however this does now not appear to be the case with UXA. If I switch back to EXA, the desktop (@ 3072x2048) will load fine. The extra resolution is enabled with the following in xorg.conf: SubSection "Display" Virtual 3072 2048 EndSubSection If I remove the 2nd monitor and load a 1024x768 desktop with UXA everything works fine (Performance is great!) but I can find no way at all to get the larger display with UXA. [Bug 359517] Re: kstars does not support indi
Hi Mike, Do you still have package 'indi' installed? Its installed as part of the non-ppa version of kstars however libindi0 conflicts with it, so you'll need to remove it before installing the ppa version. If you're having problems after that, I suggest removing indi, libindi0 and kstars, refreshing your apt cache and installing kstars again. Hi Thomas That error is simply stating that the package isn't 'signed' with a known key. It shouldn't cause a problem though and the update/install should still work without a problem. [Bug 272157] Re: Intrepid Alpha 6 desktop freeze with Gigabyte G45
Thanks Bryce. Does the release of -intel 2.5.0 change this in any way? I know it requires libdrm 2.4.0 (Intrepid currently has 2.3.1 I think), but given they now both have releases rather than simply git-tips, are they not considered stable (enough)? The concern is that over the 6 months between Intrepid and Jaunty that the G4x series of chips is going to become considerably more popular than it is today and at present many users are experiencing problems even installing and booting to a GUI. See http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=889323. Is there some testing PPA that these things get pushed into first? (Whilst there is an error above saying that Xv could not be loaded, this is unrelated as the same problem is experienced on another system where Xv works normally) Zoneminder is setup correctly and video can be displayed via web interface so the problem is with myth zoneminder. Same setup worked with mythzoneminder under 8.04. Suggested cause: This is possibly due to a limitation of mythzoneminder: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/MythZoneMinder#Dependencies Above site states that mythzoneminder only works with zoneminder versions 1.22.2 and 1.22.3 whereas Intrepid has upgraded to zoneminder 1.23.3. Not 100% sure this is the cause of the problem, but it is a possibility. If the versioning issue above is the issue, it will obviously need to wait until the problem is fixed upstream, but in the mean time it should be documented somewhere that package mythzoneminder will not work on Intrepid. ** Affects: mythplugins (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [8.10] mythzmserver will not display live feed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Problem is due to ZoneMinder 1.23.3 using a different value for its shared memory key. Patch has been submitted upstream but it makes some changes to mythzmserver that may not be accepted. [Bug 77097] Re: no css dvd's work in feisty
Its possible that the upgrade to Feisty caused the installed css to no longer function and produce the problem. Then when you reinstalled the package from Edgy (Which contains the CSS installer) everything would once again be ok. That said, the install-css.sh file really needs to be included in libdvdread3 within Feisty, particularly if it does break when upgrading from a previous version. As an alternative to using the Edgy package, it is sufficient to simply run the install-css.sh script (Attached) after installing the Feisty libdvdread3 package. ** Attachment added: "CSS installer script from Edgy package" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5780621/install-css.sh -- no css dvd's work in feisty https://launchpad.net/bugs/77097 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 75765] Re: This package should depends on mtools
I agree that mtools should be listed as a dependency rather than simply recommended. The mcopy program will be required by syslinux in 99% of cases and therefore should be a depends. Jonh, this option is not turned on by default so hence in most cases syslinux will fail to operate after installing. This cannot be a desirable outcome? [Bug 364918] Re: libindi0 conflicts with indi
I think removing indi completely is exactly what is needed. My understanding is that its functionality is all provided by libindi now. There's been an open bug on it for a while: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libindi/+bug/01 >From what I can see though, this is something that will have to be taken >upstream as the files in /usr/bin are part of the original libindi source.
