[Bug 216581] Re: screen doesn't refresh when gnome-screensaver is active
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 96991 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96991 I don't think that my problem is Compiz related as I was not using anything related to Compiz at the time of my writing. I have since installed and use Compiz. Now I have other applications doing this same thing while before it was only the screen saver application. So while I do think that the other apps have these problems that are related to Compiz, I do not think that the screen saver problem was related to Compiz. Therefore, this is not a duplicate. -- screen doesn't refresh when gnome-screensaver is active https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216581 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 355846] Re: audacity stops recording after about a second when using software play-through
I have the exact same problem. Don't know how to tell what card I have but I think it uses the intel module also. Any help would be appreciated. I am on a Acer 5610z laptop. -- audacity stops recording after about a second when using software play-through https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 355846] Re: audacity stops recording after about a second when using software play-through
Btw, everything was working fine until I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04. When I upgraded everything was slow but enabling UXA made it speed up. The only thing not working now is Audacity with software play-through. I can get it to sort of work by playing with the input and output devices in Audacity, but it stutters a lot like it is being slow. -- audacity stops recording after about a second when using software play-through https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 216581] Re: screen doesn't refresh when gnome-screensaver is active
I too have the same problem. I have attached a screen-shot of what is happening. Basically, the whatever program is on top, gets pushed behind the preview. When moving the preview window, it leaves a trail of images of the preview. The screen just fails to refresh, even hitting F5 at the desktop to refresh the desktop does not work. The only thing to clear the extra images is to drag another program over that portion of the screen. It makes it really hard to choose my power management options when I can't even see them! I am running Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid. I had the same problem in 8.04 by the way. My card is a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/19340737/screenshot -- screen doesn't refresh when gnome-screensaver is active https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216581 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 162352] Re: "Open in terminal" should have a keyboard shortcut
Thank you thank you thank you for this. I could not find an alternative to the system->preferences->appearance->interface tab until now. Your second solution of going to desktop->gnome->interface->can_change_accels in gconf-editor worked. So, thank you. -- "Open in terminal" should have a keyboard shortcut https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162352 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 527458] Re: please include status messages/tooltips
The battery indicator is not an "ignorable" icon! I think it is a stupid idea to have everything menus. If the application is not "notifying" you then what is it doing when you hover over it and it shows useful information? Your just making me have to click more! STOP IT! I like Ubuntu but, I am going to have to switch to something else if I can't have my tooltips. At least have an option to enable tooltips... -- please include status messages/tooltips https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/527458 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 355998] Re: usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Simply changing "true" to "false" within the match block, as stated by pruch, works for me. It was all working fine until I accidentally unplugged my Sansa without unmounting it first. Now I can do that and have no problems but, I believe that is what caused this because up until now I have had no problems. Anyway, tried it thrice now so, I'm assuming it's fixed for me. I changed it to false because I was uncomfortable with commenting it out or deleting it. Seems like if maybe a program depends on it being there, then having it set to false instead of just not being there would be better anyway... -- usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355998 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 162352] Re: "Open in terminal" should have a keyboard shortcut
Andrea, Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have searched high and low, all over the Internet and your post is the first to actually answer the question of how to set F4 to open the current directory in a terminal window like KDE's Konqueror does. I found several other pages relating to the nautilus-open-terminal package but they all had no answer for setting a keyboard shortcut to do this... Thank you! This page needs to be at the top of the page on Google... ;) -- "Open in terminal" should have a keyboard shortcut https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162352 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 527458] Re: please include status messages/tooltips
Ubuntu is already overweight and bloated. I'll beit, not as much as Winblows but it is. The reason I stick to Ubuntu is because it "just works". Though, now, It does not "just work" a lot of the times and this tool tip thing has just about done me in on switching back to Winblows. I have been using Ubuntu for about 3 years now and love it most of the time. It's times like these that I hate it... You people take a simple thing and turn it into something complicated! Why can't you just have an option to let the USER decide how THEY want to be notified? P.S. I am tired of playing the guessing game with the battery applet! A nice simple tool tip would save me a lot of time. Yes, I am lazy and don't want to click! There I said it. Now give me back my tool tips. -- please include status messages/tooltips https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/527458 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
