thanks. i just changed to English United Kingdom and it now works. i
guess this is still a bug though and should be fixed especially if it
affects other languages that are not English.

2016-01-14 Thread muyiwa
Public bug reported:

Eduroam network connects correctly on the phone, but on restart, it does not

before it will connect.
To recreate
1. Connect to a WPA2 enterprise network
2. Restart the phone
3. Wait for reconnection
4. Attempt manual reconnection
5. Forget existing WPA2 enterprise network and setup again

[Bug 1478222] Re: Ubuntu Touch forgets WiFi settings after first connection. EDUROAM network WPA & WPA2 Enterprise

2016-01-14 Thread muyiwa
Just filed a bug for this exact issue before realizing its already filed.
Ticking the "save password" does fix the issue, but I think that's not the way
it should work. Even without saving the password, the Eduroam network still
appears under "previous networks", so that means at least some information
about it has been saved on the phone.
I suggest the "save password" box should be selected by default, cos that's
probably what most people would want anyway, and it will solve the confusion.

[Bug 1417646] [NEW] Cannot connect to "Eduroam" wifi Network

2015-02-03 Thread muyiwa
Public bug reported:

Eduroam is a wifi Network the uses IEEE 802.1x Authentication technology. It is
used in most higher institutuions acrosss Europe and other parts of the world.
The network requires a username and password when connecting, instead of just a
Wifi key for traditional Wifi networks.

Ubuntu desktop can connect to this network, however, Ubuntu touch
cannot.

I have tried copying the config file for the network from Network
Manager on Ubuntu desktop to the same location on the phone using "adb
push", but this didn't do anything.

Here's a video I recorded of what happens when you try to connect.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnbLZ0EmPYc .

This affects me because, as I am in the university right now, "Eduroam"
is my only source of internet connection.

[Bug 894537] [NEW] Cannot view reviews

2011-11-24 Thread muyiwa
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10, i cannot view reviews on the software
centre. It just loads and then shows nothing. I have attached a
screenshot below showing what I mean. Everything else works properly. I
used to think this was as a result of my using a slow Internet
connection and that is why I haven't reported it as a bug till now.
However, I am no longer on a slow connection and the problem still
persists.

[Bug 922045] [NEW] Buying $0 apps on the Software Center

2012-01-26 Thread muyiwa
Public bug reported:

This isn't a bug in the traditional sense however, it bugs me and i'm
sure, lots of other people, so i'm registering it as a bug cos it seems
no one else has.

In all other App stores I know, apps that are free (i.e $0) require no
payment procedure in order for them to be installed on your device.
However, in USC, some free apps are priced and $0 and require you to go
through the whole payment procedure, even though you are not actually
paying for anything. I don't think this is right. USC should be able to
know that those apps are free and allow the user to just download them
instead of attempting to pay. Thanks.

Package: software-center 5.0.3.1

[Bug 894537] Re: Cannot view reviews

2011-11-25 Thread muyiwa
I think I have gotten to the root of the problem. It has to do with the
language locale. It was set to English-Nigeria (en-ng). I noticed that
some python apps have issues with that particular language locale,
sometimes to the extent of not even running at all. I changed the locale
to en-gb and I can now view comments. That doesn't mean that this bug is
invalid though but at the very least, it reduces its severity
