It's an external and cheap webcam. On it i can see only the "istar" word. Using the application Device Manager I see this: Model: ZC0305 WebCam Vendor: Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. I don't try to install some new language, when I run the language-selector it asks me if I want to complete the installation of some partially installed language (i.e. italian, used as default, and english). I have no other language installed. The missing packages are language-pack-kde-{en|it} and language-pack-kde-{en|it}-base and I'm sure they are not installed (i run the commands you suggested me in the previous message). I know that it doesn't do anything because it should appear the synaptic's window showing you it is downloading and installing the packages, but after i type the correct password, it doesn't do anything for some seconds (3-4 sec.) and then appears the "checking available language support" window, instead of the synaptic's one. For me to have system-config-printer working you only need to have the latest ubuntu version (actually the 1.1.3+git20090218-0ubuntu7 version, check it using synaptic in system, administration). After you have run the program in LPD/LPR Host or Printer you have to specify in the host box the host of the printserver (for example 192.168.1.10) then click the examine button. After a few seconds the foward button became enabled, so you can also insert the printer name in the box below and then click the foward button. The problem already exist. In fact if you do something before the steps I described in my last comment then also if you do the right things the foward button isn't enabled. Till, you have an HP printer, maybe you should have to use the HP Printer (HPLIP) section, did you try to use that system? Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu Jaunty with vinagre 2.25.92-0ubuntu1. When I run the program i correctly see the bookmarks in the sidebar, but if i double click on someone of them it doesn't happen anything. Despite of this it works going in the bookmarks menu at the top and clicking on one of them. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: system-config-printer Im using Ubuntu Jaunty. I have a printer shared with some computers over ethernet using a d-link printserver. To install it on my computer I run system-config-printer, then new -> printer, after this i expand the Network Printer tree and click on LPD/LPR Host or printer. In the right side in "host" box i write the ip of the printserver (192.168.1.240) and in the other box i write the name of the printer I set in the printserver (LASER). Now I should click foward button but... i cannot because the Foward button isn't enabled! Did I make a mistake? If I have to do in other way in my opinion it should be explained better. Sorry but for me the bug isn't resolved yet. I have a problem using both ubuntu intrepid and jaunty, and I noticed this problem also using Fedora 10. The webcam works fine with ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron. My problem consist in the hanging of any program which try to use the webcam (i.e cheese, camorama), instead other programs like vlc simply do nothing. Unfortunately I don't know which driver uses my webcam, but if somebody tells me how to give you some useful informations I would be happy to cooperate for fixing this problem. P.S. I noticed there isn't the same behavoir for all the USB pendrives. For example a Kingston 512 MB (from lsusb -> Bus 001 Device 019: ID 0930:6533 Toshiba Corp. 512M Stick) has this problem, while a Sandisc 8GB (Bus 001 Device 020: ID 0781:5406 SanDisk Corp.
