[Bug 244669] [NEW] Firefox can not read files from ftp sites obtained from an http site

2008-07-01 Thread mexlinux
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

I'm on Hardy with FF3 (Gecko/2008061015 Firefox/3.)

I'm visiting the Mexican IRS website, it has a lot of links to pdf files
stored on an ftp site, I can not read those files from within firefox
(I must use nautilus in order to browse for those files)

How to reproduce:
-Go to http://www.sat.gob.mx
-On the left menu click on "Software y formas fiscales"
-Then click on "Formas y formatos fiscales"
-Scroll down and you will see links to some pdf files
-Click on any of those.
-Voila

[Bug 267376] Re: [Request] OpenOffice.org 3.0 in Intrepid Backports

2008-10-16 Thread mexlinux
I understant the given reasons, and agree that right now is too late.

But I think that there is one issue to consider for further releases:
There are, AFAIK, 3 component used by virtually every user: Desktop, Office
Suite, and Web Browser.
Those 3 components should be included in alphas, or beta versions of ubuntu
when they reach a point like RC or even beta, in order to start integrating,
finding and solving possibe bugs, that will even help to get those projects
released on time.

You do it right now with GNOME,
You did it once with Firefox,
You should consider do it also for OpenOffice.org from now and on.

Any other component, can be treated different, like gimp for example, is
used by many users but not for everyone.

[Bug 117896] Re: Loses e-mails when moving accross IMAP folders

2008-03-12 Thread mexlinux
THIS IS A CRITICAL BUG!!
I HAVE JUST LOST A BUNCH OF MESSAGES.
THIS IS A COMMON PROCEDURE THAT I HAVE DONE MANY TIMES WITH KMAIL AND
THUNDERBIRD.
SWITCH TO EVOLUTION HAS BEEN FOR ME A VERY BAD IDEA.

I'm on Hardy, by the way.

I can confirm this is present in Hardy Alpha 6 updated to 12 march 2008

If I specify a static IP in network-admin or directly in /etc/network/interfaces
The ifconfig parameters work.
But the iwconfig parameter don't get associated.
my onbnly way to get it working is by hand:
sudo wlan0 essid MyESSID key MyKEY

[Bug 134671] Re: [Tribe5] cups-pdf do not overwrite existing pdf

2008-03-13 Thread mexlinux
I have this problem on Hardy Alpha 6.
New PDFs with the same name are not created.

Using the "Label 1" solution works perfect.

The result are files named like: job_number-TITLE.pdf

And that is much better than do not have the new pdf been generated at
all.
