maybe you don't understand me... the thing is: audacity works very well
before to upgrade to kubuntu 6.10 (from 6.06). and now have a lot of noise
when you rec.

I'm using ASUS UX 305F with Intel Intel Corporation Dual Band Wireless-
AC 7265 and having similar issues With Mint 18 (Ubuntu Xenial)

I'm with kernel 4.4.0-21-generic (and problems still occurs form 3.x)

I did workaround this by disabling N Wireless :(

3. Then cancel when error appears

Here the same problem. I was with 9.10 and suddenly, I couldn't connect any 
more. 
Then I add ppa network manager, and nothing. Then I updated to 10.04 and I 
still here, without connection.

I had the same problem and I was really annoyed by it. After reading
this fix I have found even better and simpler solution:

Open up the "Compiz settings manager" and enable "Place Windows" plugin
(part of the "compiz-plugins-default" package), click on it to go to its
preferences and then in "Placement Mode" select menu chose "Centered".

Since now every new window will be centered, and the problem of default
(0,0) coordinated will be no more

I hope it will be helpful to everybody who has this annoying problem
