Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ddclient ddclient forces to enter update server info during installation. ddclient doesnt have option to choose opendns and had to edit ddclient.conf so, user should not be forced to confgure while installing and this should not be an installtion failure. Public bug reported: I'm using Dell Vostro 1500. Configuration, 160 GB SATA HD Intel centrino dup processor 256MB nvidia graphiscs card wreless & bluetooth Both ubuntu 7.04 & kubuntu 7.10 live cd installer doesn't recognise existing hard disk partitions. I had vista preinstalled, then tried ubuntu 7.04 which couldnt retrieve HD partions. Then tried with pclinuxos which installed. Now again tried with kubuntu 7.10 & again same result. Ubuntu installer fails to retrieve existing partitons and wants to format whoe had disk. 1. Deleted saved wireless profiles (use WPA personal network) 2. Restart Ubuntu 3. Desktop looks more responsive. Firefox opens instantly but in off-line mode. 4. Well, After Step 4 network manager reconnects to wireless network automatically. So, once boot into Ubuntu 'switch' works as expected. If switch is 'off' during boot, is when the problem. Once wireless switched on, bluetooth icon appears in notification area but wireless options greyed out. And its an slide switch, has two fixed positions. Why this is incomplete? Behavior is bit different in Kubuntu, 1. Start Computer with wifi switch off 2. Login to Kubuntu 3. Switch on wifi 4. I too have the same issue in Ubuntu Karmic. I get an dialog 'error loading subtitle' but video play with subtitle. Installed gnome mplayer via software centre.
