[Bug 220065] Re: [Heron] X server does not properly configure laptop monitor on Everex VA2001T

2008-11-07 Thread lil_kreen
I would like to but the newest release has progressed from workable but
slightly bugged in 8.04 to completely nonfunctional in 8.10. All I get
for 8.10 is a corrupted unresponsive cursor, a black screen, and no
drive activity once initial loading is complete. I don't know how to get
the info out of the console without the GUI. This is from running a
vanilla ubuntu iso (i386-desktop) as well so there are no alterations
whatsoever on my part for the install.

[Bug 220065] Re: [Heron] X server does not properly configure laptop monitor on Everex VA2001T

2008-07-09 Thread lil_kreen
I know that already. The point is that "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-
xorg" doesn't reset it to VESA or give me anywhere to tell it what
monitor I have, I can't figure out how, and they removed screens and
graphics so I can't fix it.

[Bug 61184] Re: Screen brightness buttons don't work properly on Thinkpad Z61T

2008-04-15 Thread lil_kreen
I have the same problem on my everex va2001t. The brightness buttons do
not work except just after grub has loaded.

[Bug 220065] [NEW] [Heron] X server does not properly configure laptop monitor on Everex VA2001T

2008-04-20 Thread lil_kreen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

[Hardy Heron 8.04]

The LCD on the Everex VA2001T used to work in Beta 4 but the screen
shimmered constantly so I did 'dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xerver-xorg' to
attempt to fix it. The resulting output indeed doesn't shimmer but will
no longer center the login screen properly or come back from suspend
without corrupting the graphics in an incorrect mode. (assuming it
acknowledges keypresses from suspend at all)

The monitor detects as unknown in both hardy and stable but is supposed
to be 1440x900. The video card, a chrome 9 HC IGP supposedly is covered
by openchrome but it will not start under that driver so VESA is used
instead.
