[Bug 57121] Re: apt-get dist-upgrade fails from Dapper to Edgy

2006-08-23 Thread kuscsik
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 56779 ***

It seems to be a compatibility problem between the
/usr/bin/pycentral and  /usr/share/pycentral-data/pyversions.py.
There is a proble I think if you have python2.3 and python2.4 simultaneously
installed. Maybe you can try uninstall python2.3, upgrade to edgy and install
python2.3 (if you allready installed python2.3)

Hmm, it is probabli not the best solution but works for me:

in the pycentral script a changed the line 954

 requested = list(pyversions.requested_versions(vstring,v
ersion_only=True))

to

 requested = "python2.3"

[Bug 116991] Re: cannot build kernel module

2007-11-09 Thread kuscsik
The main problem with lufs is that the inode->i_blksize , get_sb_nodev() and
generic_file_read() generic_file_write()
functions were modified or replaced in new 2.6 kernel versions.

Here is a patch that solves the compilation problem.

The module lufs.ko does note install properly, so you should insert or
copy it maniually:

sudo insmod lufs-0.9.7/kernel/Linux/2.6/lufs.ko

[Bug 121327] Re: pdflatex produces a symbol lookup failure since recent libpoppler upgrade

2007-07-02 Thread kuscsik
This approach is not recommended, but until the bug is not fixed
you can copy the libpoppler.so.1, libpoppler.so.1.0.0 from
poppler 0.5.4 to a specific directory and run pdflatex

 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/someuser/lib/ pdflatex latexfile.tex

This solution is very ugly and unsafe. Use it only if you have a
presentation deadline tomorrow ;)

[Bug 95393] Re: Apache 2 on edgy is not able to server files from unionfs

2007-06-27 Thread kuscsik
I develop a small router running from IDE flash disks with union filesystem and
apache.
There are some similar attempts on the net, so the problem is not so abstract
as running apache from LiveCD.
It would be nice to include this in to the documentation, in the specific
situation
it was very difficult to find the core of the problem.

[Bug 61381] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login

2007-03-06 Thread kuscsik
In my case it seems to be a network settings problem.

in my /etc/network/interfaces the lo device is configured as:

auto lo

after system startup the lo device is not alive. Starting gnome gives the well
known white box in the left bottom corner.
After

  sudo ifconfig lo up

in the base terminal gnome starting up without any problem.
