Adding

Option  "EXAOptimizeMigration"  "true"
Option  "MigrationHeuristic""greedy"

to the "Device" section of my  /etc/X11/xorg.conf solved the issue for
me:

Section "Device"
Identifier  "Configured Video Device"
Option  "EXAOptimizeMigration"  "true"
Option  "MigrationHeuristic""greedy"
EndSection

I can definitely confirm that my system is slow after suspending to RAM
and resuming the computer. After booting everything is OK.

System: Dell D630, GM965/GL960, UXA, 9.04 with 2.6.30-020630rc7-generic

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

The ubuntu 9.10 installer raised several errors pertaining to openoffice
.org-filter-binfilter in the post-install stage of the installation.

Using the 64bit installer found on Sep 3, 2009 at
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/daily/current/.

1) $ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10

2) $ apt-cache policy openoffice.org-filter-binfilter 
openoffice.org-filter-binfilter:
  Installed: 1:3.1.1-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1:3.1.1-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.1.1-1ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) I expected the installer to install ubuntu 9.10 without any error
messages.

4) The ubuntu 9.10 installer raised error messages while installing.
