[Bug 415023] Re: brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100
I can confirm, that the 10G Bios is working, but there are only 4 brightness levels, not the possible 8 I've had with the patched g-p-m from #215. Also the easy way of flashing mentioned in #264 is not longer working for me (have done it successfully with version 10D), so had to use the guide from #263 (almost bricked my Wind...). Also "Put display to sleep when inactive for XX minutes" or "xset dpms force standby" is finally working :-) -- brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 390014] Re: my lcd monitor flashes, it turns off for a second and then come back
After upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic (with the latest updates) I have the same problem. But only while playing youtube or other Flash videos. Every couple of minutes the entire screen goes blank for a second but sound is still playing. I've tested it with Firefox 3.5.3 and Midori 0.1.9 with Flash 10.0r32 -- my lcd monitor flashes, it turns off for a second and then come back https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390014 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm this I've the exact same behavior on my MSI Wind U100 with up-to-date Karmic (Jaunty upgrade installation) -- brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 415023] Re: brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100
Thanks for this patch, sounds great. Unfortunately your precompiled version is not working for me because the content of /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/board_name is "U90/U100", not "U-100", on my MSI Wind U100. But with this and the latest progress made on Bug #435352, it seems Karmic is finally coming to a state were it can be used. -- brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

The camera worked fine with Jaunty, but after an upgrade to Karmic I've the same problem. harpsy, the "bug" in the ubuntu-release-notes is fixed. [Bug 435352] Re: regression: uvcvideo module makes "cannot reset port" error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails
steve.horlsey, OK it is a bit confusing, but try to imagine this bug as two separate bugs. Bug A (which affects linux (Ubuntu)): obviously the camera is (still) not working. Bug B (which affects ubuntu-release-notes): Bug A was not listed in the ubuntu-release-notes. Bug B is fixed because Bug A is now listed in the ubuntu-release-notes. Bug A is still open with the, status 'triaged' at the moment. I hope I made myself clear.
