[Bug 575180] Re: PM: resume of drv:battery dev:PNP0C0A:00 complete after 59348.072 msecs

2010-06-02 Thread huang
I've tried the new kernel of the development branch maverick.

$ uname -a
Linux zwhuang 2.6.34-5-generic #13-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 1 19:49:41 UTC 2010 i686
GNU/Linux

After trying two times of suspend/resume procedure, I am sure that the
new kernel improves the situation. The time of resuming reduced a lot.
However, it still takes about 15 seconds to make the whole system wake
up.

$ dmesg |grep "PM.*battery"

2008-07-03 Thread Huang Wei
I have tried with any add-ons as soon as possible.
But I installed a add-ons via download the developer's source code.

I can install some add-ons in firefox 2.0 in the Ubuntu 7.10 and Windows
XP, NOT in firefox 3.0 in the Ubuntu 8.04 or Windows XP.

Error Hint:
Firefox could not install the file at

[Bug 391537] [NEW] [needs-packaging] drcom-pum

2009-06-24 Thread Henry Huang
Public bug reported:

[needs-packaging] drcom-pum

* Package name: drcom-pum
  Version : 1.0
  Upstream Author : Wheelz
Henry Huang
Longshow
* URL : http://www.drcom-client.org/
* License : GPLv2
  Programming Lang: C, Python
  Description : fully GUI configurable X drcom-client using GTK+

drcom-pum is a branch of drcom-client for Linux development.
It is a fully GUI configurable X drcom-client for Linux, written from
scratch in pure Python. It uses the GTK+ toolkit for all of its
 interface needs. drcom-client pum provides 100% GUI configurability;
no need to edit config files by hand and re-start the program.
 .
drcom-client is an open source ISP client for Dr.COM® networks,
a specialized broadband access and authentication system produced
by Doctorcom Corp. However, Dr.COM® has been used in many univerisites
of China while its official client has only Windows version, which makes
Linux/MacOSX users take much pains on internet access. Even with its
official Windows client, users still have got dozens of problems,
especially for its prevention of NAT/proxy servers.
 .
drcom-client Team wish everyone could enjoy his freedom in internet access.

[Bug 384671] [NEW] Restore SB600 SATA controller 64 bit DMA

2009-06-07 Thread Shane Huang
Public bug reported:

Description of problem:
Community reported one SB600 SATA issue(BZ #9412), which led to 64 bit
DMA disablement for all SB600 revisions by driver maintainers with
commits c7a42156d99bcea7f8173ba7a6034bbaa2ecb77c and
4cde32fc4b32e96a99063af3183acdfd54c563f0.

But the root cause is ASUS M2A-VM system BIOS bug in old revisions
like 0901, while forcing into 32bit DMA happens to work as workaround.
Now it's time to withdraw 4cde32fc4b32e96a99063af3183acdfd54c563f0
so as to restore the SB600 SATA 64bit DMA capability.
This patch is also adding the workaround for M2A-VM old BIOS revisions,

2009-05-04 Thread Guangcheng Huang

Hi,

I do not use a live CD. I just upgraded my system from version 8.10 to 9.04.
Since then, my system crashed if I right click ANY playing area of a window and
I need to re-login.
I doubt if there is some problem with my video card.

Thank you for your reply.

[Bug 361843] Re: Kile 2.1 LaTeX editor is extremely slow

2009-04-20 Thread Chengkun Huang
I can confirmed this problem with kile 2.1 in Jaunty. When typing a long
line, it becomes very slow. Same problem also exists in kate with about
500 characters in one line. I just open kate and kile and start editing
by pressing key without releasing. The slowdown is obvious once the line
gets long.

[Bug 251122] Re: vim-gtk/-gnome use of gtk-filechooser causes recently used files list to be constantly written

2009-04-28 Thread Jiahua Huang
I'm unhappy that switching to the ugly and gtk file selection dialog.
I prefer to err on the recently-used func.

This patch overwrited the g_bookmark_file_to_file() func to fixed the
considerable I/O problem,
and switching to the new-style gtk_file_chooser_dialog.

It works on my Ubuntu 9.04.

[Bug 274428] [NEW] Network Manager set DNS wrong for GSM network

2008-09-25 Thread Jouston Huang

sdfDescription: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release:8.04

I am using network-
manager-0.7~~svn20080908t183521+eni0-0ubuntu4~nm1~hardy1. With my Huawei
E169 HSDPA modem I always have my /etc/resolve.conf set to the DNS gain
from eth0.

Then I figure out that the eth0 was automatically setup as "system
setting". Only after I uncheck that "system setting" my
/etc/resolve.conf back to right setting.

This is an usability issue. People would not know their other wireless
network or GSM network can't override the DNS setting.

[Bug 338108] [NEW] Add support to SB800 SMBus changes

2009-03-04 Thread Shane Huang
Public bug reported:

Description of problem:
This version of driver adds support for the AMD SB800
Family series of products. Major changes include the
changes to addressing the SMBUS registers at different
location from the locations in the previous compatible
parts from AMD such as SB400/SB600/SB700.
For SB800, the main features and register definitions
of SMBUS and other interfaces are still compatible with
the previous products with the only change being in
how to access the internal registers for these blocks
may differ.

How reproducible:
dmesg show error for i2c-piix4 module, and
sensors-detect or i2cdetect detect nothing.

Steps to Reproduce:
dmesg |grep smbus

Actual results:
piix4_smbus :00:14.0: SMB base address uninitialized - upgrade BIOS or use
force_addr=0xaddr
(dmesg show error for i2c-piix4 module, and sensors-detect or i2cdetect
detect nothing on SMBus.)

Expected results:
piix4_smbus :00:14.0: SMBus Host Controller at 0xb00, revision 0

Additional info:
This patch has been accepted by kernel.org, I will provide
the git link later when it is available.

[Bug 327920] [NEW] Wrong "last updated time" with option "--start 0" on 64bit Ubuntu Hardy

2009-02-10 Thread Jianshi Huang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rrdtool

If you create a rrd file with option "--start 0", the last updated time
will be set to a very large incorrect number, which is a bug reported on
the mailing list.

https://lists.oetiker.ch/pipermail/rrd-users/2007-February/012331.html

It doesn't happen on the latest 1.2.30 version.

So could you upgrade the package (1.2.19) to a later version?

[Bug 410521] [NEW] Add support for (k)qemu

2009-08-07 Thread Julien Huang
Public bug reported:

Actually there's support for the following hypervisors : xen, kvm, vmw6,
and vmserver

Since KVM needs VT instructions, and Ubuntu doesn't support Xen Dom0
anymore, it would be great to support (k)qemu too, especially for people
without hardware VT instructions on their CPU.

Moreover, kvm userspace tools are very similar to qemu's tools, so I
think that it wouldn't be too hard to implement (k)qemu support into
vmbuilder utility.

[Bug 51082] Re: wine run slowly under zh_CN.UTF-8 locale

to reappear it,
please guaranteed you to install language-support-zh ,
execute
" LANG=en_US.UTF-8 notepad "
and
" LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8 notepad " ,
their speed differences is very obvious.

I had strace that under zh_CN.UTF-8 locale,
it seems it will polls the nonexistent gbk-0 X core fonts .
the polls make it run slowly.

I think the gbk-0 X core font is no appropriate to a UTF-8 locale.

I found XLC_LOCALE file: /usr/share/X11/locale/zh_CN.UTF-8/XLC_LOCALE .

When I remove the
fs3 class (Chinese Han Character GBK)
  from /usr/share/X11/locale/zh_CN.UTF-8/XLC_LOCALE ,
wine runs fast as the en_US.UTF-8 case.

well, the final release works on some of our RS690+SB700 boards, but failure

[Bug 146583] Re: [Gutsy Beta] Desktop CD doesn't put Gutsy in Grub

2007-09-29 Thread Shane Huang
I think my case is similar as yours:

I tried to install 7.10 beta desktop amd64 into my board, but I find that the
GRUB
is not installed at all each time.
The installation exits at about 80-90% without any dialog asking me to continue
use
live CD or reboot.

when I mount the root partition to some place /var/temp/
I find there is no grub in /etc and /boot, and there is no initrd image either.

I also met this same problem in 7.10 Tribe 5, the solution was to burn another
CD
with another DVD-RW drive. But this method fails in 7.10 Beta, I have tried many
times but all in vain. I don't know the reason.

Can any guys give me some information? The GRUB installation option is selected
as default. Thanks.

HW info:
RS690+SB700
AMD64 processor

[Bug 147065] AMD/ATI SB700 should support two IDE channels

2007-09-29 Thread Shane Huang
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source

SB700 supports one physical IDE channel, but SB700 SATA controller
supports combined mode. When the SATA combined mode is enabled,
two SATA ports(port4 and port5) share one IDE channel from IDE
controller, and PATA will share the other IDE channel.

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=6c6a2a8d201b4f8fd54167802da5ddbe08abd744
Our previous patch above adding SB700 IDE device ID only support one
IDE channel, which contains bug. The attached patch fix the bug.

I have sent the patch to the linux kernel IDE maintainer, and will
post the upstream commit here when I get it.

Thanks
