If the site is viewable from Windows using Firefox, why not from Linux. That is the only reason this bug(?) was submitted. [Bug 59983] Re: ndiswrapper in edgy broken
All, I had the same problem ("FATAL: Error inserting ndiswrapper (/lib/modules/2.6.17-7-generic/kernel/drivers/net/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper.ko): Invalid argument") when trying to install the SMC 2802 V2. I installed ndiswrapper 1.8, but no success. Searched for hours on the internet, but could not find the solution. Then I found in /var/log/messages this line: loadndisdriver: loadndisdriver: main(638): version 1.7 doesn't match driver version 1.8 I guessed the 1.8 was ndiswrapper. I was desperate enough to open loaddnsdriver (it's in /usr/sbin) in vi to see what it did. I still have no idea, but I found the string 1.7 and changed it into 1.8. After this change I could run sudo modprobe ndiswrapper - and after adding my ESSID and enabling the wireless network I am online! -- ndiswrapper in edgy broken https://launchpad.net/bugs/59983 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Here is one where the bug does appear: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1205.6214v2 to reproduce it, open the document an scroll down towards the end of a page, as this is reached, the display of the current page swaps into the next such that the next page is doubled. [Bug 260001] Re: ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_bootloader()
I have made several installs in the same computer with the Intrepid 'Desktop' CD. I used one partition for / every time, with the Reiser File System. Every time I allow GRUB to be installed to (hd0) everything works fine. Every time I select to have GRUB installed to /dev/sda2, ( I want to chainload it from my dedicated GRUB partition), I have this problem, (crash in ubiquity at grub-install). For me it's a minor nuisance but nothing difficult to deal with. I just perform a direct boot from GRUB's Command Line Interface, http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/p15.htm#First_method:_direct_kernel_boot. Then when Intrepid is up and running run 'sudo update-grub' to make a menu.lst automatically, and install GRUB to the boot sector of the partition. I have read of one person not having an initrd.img, another way that can be fixed using the 'Desktop' Live CD to chroot into the installation and running 'mkinitramfs', as in this link, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=979311&highlight=Cannot+boot +Ibex-ubiquity+crash+during+install&page=2 -- ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_bootloader() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260001 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 303190] Re: gvfs-fuse-deamon hangs (futex_wait)
** Description changed: gvfs-fuse deamon hangs. System monitor indicates futex_wait for the waiting channel. I've no clue what this means. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. + + The Details: + + a- I open gnome-system-monitor. + b- I browse to the "file systems" tab + c- the "gvfs-fuse-deamon" line indicates that "0 bytes" are Total/Available/Free/Used in the /home/my_name/.gvfs Directory. + d- I expected that the "gvfs-fuse-deamon" line would indicate that the total size of my home directory, and the amount of Free/Available/Used space (like in 8.04). + e- In the "processes" tab and the column "process name" the gvfs-fuse-deamon is marked as "futex_wait" in the Waiting Channel. + + I notice this behavior on 2 different systems (Dell Dimension 9150 and + Dell Inspiron 6400, both with Ubuntu 8.10). [Bug 65505] Xen + LVM
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xen-image-xen0-2.6.17-5-server-xen0 Same thing happens on debian (xen-linux-system-2.6.17-2-xen-686). We used the xen0-2.6.17-5-server kernel with the xen- hypervisor-3.0.3-pae-i386 (3.0.3-rc2) and the generic version with non- pae hypervisor. The problem does not occur with the Ubuntu kernels in main (non-xen). The problem is that during a lot of disk i/o to a LVM partition, the IOwait goes to 100% and gradually the load goes higher and higher until the system is unusable. We tested on different hardware configurations (two different mainboards (intel and asus), different harddisks (maxtor and western digital) and cpu's (celeron and pentium4). [Bug 144631] Re: xen guest hangs after mounting filesystem
I don't know if this will help since it sounds a bit different: We had some Ubuntu booting problems before (run manual build xen on centos). We fixed this by building a new initrd in the domU and copy that initrd to dom0 and use it in the config file instead of the supplied one. you can build a new initrd with the following command: example: `mkinitramfs -o /boot/initrd-2.6.18-xen-feisty.img 2.6.18-xen` you don't have to start the domu, you can also build it with a chroot to the filesystem. maybe its worth a try. -- xen guest hangs after mounting filesystem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144631 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
