[Bug 308705] Re: high cpu usage with et131x
I too can confirm this on a LG R200 laptop with the same ethernet controller as mentioned above. Getting 250.2 wakeups / sec both with the cable in and out with the latest jaunty kernel in the repositories (2.6.28-12-generic). [Bug 574307] Re: new Wireless Doesn't Connect! rt2860
I have never been able to connect but I think that is due to my router expecting a 64bit WEP key: "every time I try to connect it asks for the passkey, which I input, it then has the icon of the wireless trying to connect in the tool bar, it tries to connect for a few minutes until it asks for the passkey again, and it goes in an endless loop like that." ditto. The dmsg log matches. [Bug 308705] Re: high cpu usage with et131x
The bug was fixed in the .30 or maybe .31-version of the et131x-driver in the linux kernel. Another bug is still there though which causes the module to crash on high network loads (around 100 mbit/sec) which forces the user to reload the kernel module to make the wired network respond again. I havent checked if this is reported though (this bug at least is present even in the .33-kernel when the et131x-driver is compiled when using the ubuntu kernel ppa and is also present at least in the latest kernel in lucid) -- high cpu usage with et131x https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308705 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1687130] [NEW] NFS client input/output-error on kernel >=4.9
Public bug reported: I'm experiencing input/output errors on mounting NFS-shares, starting from kernel 4.9 and above. No errors logged to syslog, but the system reports IO-errors when reading from the mount after only a few seconds. Doesn't matter which program that are accessing the disk. My problems started after upgrading to ubuntu 17.04, but I have narrowed it down to being present from ubuntu kernel 4.9 and above by installing kernels from the ubuntu kernel ppa - i.e. when downgrading to latest 4.8-kernel from the PPA, NFS starts working as expected even on ubuntu 17.04. So it's definetely kernel related. Probably not a hardware error either as the bug is present when NFS is mounted over both eth0 and wlan0. Only special thing in my setup is that NFS is mounted over an ssh- tunnel. [Bug 666713] Re: [Realtek ALC262] ALSA test tone not correctly played back
I am happy to revert to the std Ubuntu sound stack and trouble shoot but would like some assurance that I won't be left hanging - I don't mean to cast aspertions, but my experience in OpenSUSE/Novell was terrible with bugs left hanging. By hanging I mean not even told - "give up for the moment and use this alternative/work around" So, precisely what apt-get will install Ubuntu's preferred sound stack? [Bug 523803] Re: Evince (No protocol specified) + NX floating windows mode
I had this same experience. PDF files were not opening in evince. Desktop is a nomachine client connected to neatx server. Example: $ evince No protocol specified Cannot parse arguments: Cannot open display: $ Workaround, in the same terminal as above: $ xhost + access control disabled, clients can connect from any host $ Now evince opens PDF files, e.g. from within Chromium. Speculation that the xhost command should be added to the NX client's "Run the following command": E.g xfce4-session & xhost + HTH? -- Evince (No protocol specified) + NX floating windows mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/523803 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 318448] Re: [Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900/Hybrid][em28xx]Missing device files (/dev/dvb)
I have the exact same problem with a Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid stick (330e) on Ubuntu 10.04 The em28xx modules are loaded, but the only devices created are /dev/video0, /dev/vbi0. The dvb device (/dev/dvb/adapter0) is not created. The site http://jiemeb.free.fr/pinnacle/ does not, currently, have a 2.6.32-25 amd64 build. -- [Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900/Hybrid][em28xx]Missing device files (/dev/dvb) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318448 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 180261] Adding a new user with "Real Name" containing an apostrophe fails
Public bug reported: Problem can be reproduced in Gusty and Feisty (ubuntu). When trying to add a new user: - Click "System" -> "Administration" -> "Users and Groups" - Click "Add User" - In the "Real Name" field, type a name including an apostrophe, for example, "O'Neill" - Fill in the password, etc - Click "OK" - Close the "Users and Groups (User settings)" window - Re-open via "System" -> "Administration" -> "Users and Groups Notice that the "Name" field is blank, though it should contain the "Real Name", for example, "O'Neill" This seems to be another apostrophe bug. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- Adding a new user with "Real Name" containing an apostrophe fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/180261 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
