Ubuntu jaunty (development branch), kernel 2.6.28-11-generic, Ubuntu 9.04 beta desktop iso i386. Fn key works properly in Linux Mint 6, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic. I'm new to Linux. Last programmed IBM 7070 & 1401/2 using autocoder and machine language in 1975! I'm attaching contents of /acpi enabling read/write permissions. Hope this helps.
