[Bug 463347] Re: devices not detected -- too many open files
OK I just booted and plugged in a USB mp3 player (USB Storage) it automounted and opened a window in gnome. I did this because I tried to do the same just before rebooting and I needed to stop/start udev in order to get the /dev/sdc1 device created. I too see this, plus a number of other DVD related problems (which did not occur with 10.04 on same hardware) 1: Please eject (as above) it just popped up while trying this 2: Inserting blank media opens a disc creator menu (looks like brasero) but if I get it to write an existing iso (drag & drop + choose as an image) the nautilus window vanishes and (I think all my nautilus windows die) repeat this several times eventually it works ... seems to vary depending on whether the entry is highlighted or not (may be wishful thinking) opening brasero from menu always works ... but the the please eject at the end. 3: inserting dvds do not always pop up a window ... this may be due to some options I disabled ... but may relate to the big (ie as a cause) This feels more like udev than brasero ... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/654746 Title: brasero finishes with cancel/cancel option -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 988290] Re: Resolution change with KVM switch on Precise
I worked around this by un-installing the screen saver. Given what appears to be the 'root cause' ... my guess would be the screen saver it provoking a 'poll' when it locks or unlocks the screen ... Given that this will probably happen when a KVM is switched 'away' for long periods , it would seem to be (at least) a BUG WRT the screen saver. In a Lab situation a KVM would be the norm ... having to remove the screen saver/locking on lab machines would make Ubuntu unsuitable for this kind of use on security grounds. Suggest yon don't close but reassign to screen saver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988290 Title: Resolution change with KVM switch on Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/988290/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
