[Bug 60764] Re: Large file transfer gives error: Corrupted MAC on input

2009-04-07 Thread gloawu
I can also confirm this bug when running Intrepid on an Lenovo Ideapad
S10e and trying to move files to another computer via ssh over the
ethernet interface. The command "sudo ethtool -K eth0 rx off tx off"
fixes the problem.

[Bug 60764] Re: Large file transfer gives error: Corrupted MAC on input

Unfortunately I didn't figure it out myself. The command was posted here by
Johan Christiansen on 2008-09-08 . Maybe he can go into more detail on this.
You're welcome

[Bug 224602] [NEW] [hardy] vym doesn't start when wlan is enabled

2008-04-30 Thread gloawu
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vym

When wlan on my laptop is enabled, vym (1.10.0-1ubuntu1) just doesn't
start up. Doing a "strace vym" on the terminal indicates, that vym just
stops loading (no errors, doesn't quit) while doing something (which i
can not comprehend) concerning networking. After that, in system monitor
the process just sits there "sleeping" If I disable the wlan with the
hardware switch, it loads just fine. I'm running the amd64.

** Affects: vym (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 221851] Re: [hardy] Gajim doesn't use default keyring

2008-05-07 Thread gloawu
I have been fiddling around a little (deleting all key rings manually
and creating a new one via "System->Preferences->Encryption and
Keyrings" and setting "Location for application passwords" to "login")
but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. The outcome of this is
that i now also have only one keyring named "login.keyring". I did a
"fresh" install of hardy, so this shouldn't be the cause.

[Bug 221851] [NEW] [hardy] Gajim doesn't use default keyring

2008-04-25 Thread gloawu
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gajim

When running Gajim (0.11.4-0ubuntu1) for the first time and the user
decides that he wants his password to be stored in the gnome-keyring,
Gajim doesn't use the default keyring. The result of this being that the
user now has two keyrings; one that gets loaded when logging into gdm
(which also unlocks wlan passwords of network-manager) and a seperate
one for Gajim alone (which is of course is very annoying, because you
have to enter your password twice; this wasn't the case in previous
versions of Ubuntu)

I found Gajim to be adding an "extra" keyring file in
/home/$user/.gnome2/keyrings , namely "default.keyring". Instead, i
think it's supposed to use the already present keyring which is used by
gdm/network-manager, named only "default" (?). So my guess is, that
either someone of the Ubuntu, Gajim or Gnome-Team made a little Typo in
this release, leading Gajim to use a keyring, which isn't there (and
therefore has to be created first). Perhaps it would be the easiest way
to fix this problem to modify the Gajim source to using the keyring-file
"default" instead of "default.keyring".

I hope this little annoyance will be fixed soon.

Have a happy weekend!
