2008-11-03 Thread frans van der star
Dear Michael,

Kopete Yahoo: only now webcam will not start when i send my webcam. In previous
8.04 all was okay. Viewing cam is okay
In preferences - video cam is running
- libyahoo installed
- libjasper installed
- removed firewall

Connection webcam with sending probably not working. but no idea what
this is.

webcam working as well sending as receiving good working in AMSN

By the way Intrepid looks fantastic. Only pity these bugs.

This is probably #260492 - there is a workaround posted in there.

RE: [Bug 291132] Re: upgrade 8.04 to 8.10

2008-10-30 Thread frans van der star

Dear Mr. Voigt,

First of all I have respect for the Ubuntu-team, implying you of
course!!!

But this update: Interprid.is really disappointing.

For your information: Since 4 years I have been using Ubuntu with
satisfaction. Sometimes overcoming some installing issues. But still I
am in favour for Ubuntu.

For your maybe back-ground information: I did not change the Tomcat-
config, because I had already Open Bravo which needs this dependency,
installed. During working with edition 8.04 all was working smoothly.

And I will point out the reason in short for you:
- When I want to open my documents Kaffeine opens () Weird but it is true
- This is the same with other items mentioned in places in menue
- Webcam is not working in AMSN and Kopete; in edition 8.04 all worked smoothly
= very fine
- Using Amule I gest message firewalled (not a big problem!!)

My web-applications are by the way very well working:
- Open Bravo
- SQL-Ledger

I am really considering not using Ubuntu again. This is too much.

Anyway would like to express my appreciation to you.

Greetings,

Frans van der Star

[Bug 572681] Re: shared-mime-info: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127

2010-05-15 Thread frans van der star
Dear Engineers and developpers,

I found out already. It has to do with Tomcat. First I had Tomcat 5.5
(9.10). In version 10.4 not Tomcat 5.5 available anymore.

Also during upgrade Tomcat 6 was not installed.

What I did is just delete line 6 in /etc/environment/ with the
consequence I cannot use applications using Tomcat like Openbravo etc..

This was the same issue with another upgrade. Which I forgot already.

Maybe next time take this issue into consideration?

Thanks
