[Bug 567259] [NEW] [Lucid] error while ripping CD to mp3 - "Can't write on resource"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sound-juicer I have found a bug while ripping CDs to MP3. At the first track a error appears: "Error while ripping CD - Can't write on resource" (translated from german) A file with the Name ".[Artist] - [Title].mp3" is created with whole song, but with broken lenght and bitrate informations. Looks like xingmux does a wrong job. [Bug 540801] Re: X server starts before Plymouth, or a very short time after (no or brief splash)
@40: Which framebuffer you use? After the update to lucid beta2 vga16fb was set per default. (nvidia driver 195.36.15) But vga16fb only support low resolutions with 16 colors. So, I switched over to uvesafb. My kernel start line looks like this: linux /vmlinuz-2.6.32-21-generic root=UUID=-xxx-x ro video=uvesafb:mode_option=1280x1024-32 quiet splash Now I see the splash screen with the fix from the second comment. The default ubuntu splash screen is boring - so I installed the "solar" theme, but every-time plymouth is updated the solar theme is replaced my the default ubuntu theme. (I hope that the solar splash screen stays when I removed the default ubuntu splash screen package.) -- X server starts before Plymouth, or a very short time after (no or brief splash) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540801 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 391215] Re: vga=791 kernel line option breaks tty consoles
It seems that Lucid have chosen vga16fb per default. vga16fb doesn't support the vga= parameter and ends in broken tty consoles. So I exchanged vga16fb with vesafb. I added vga16fb to the blacklist (/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer.conf) and removed vesafb from it. Furthermore I added fbcon and vesafb to /etc/modules. [Bug 786897] [NEW] Can not adjust CPU frequency
Public bug reported: At Ubuntu 11.04 x64 I can not choose the CPU frequency mode on my Toshiba Satellite C660D-10P notebook. Both cores of the CPU (AMD Athlon II X2 P340) run permanently with 800Mhz instead of 2.2Ghz or 1.6Ghz. When I run "cpufreq-selector -c 0 -g performance" (and with "-c 1" option for the 2nd core, too) the CPU core frequency doesn't increases to 2.2Ghz. The profiles conservative, ondemand and userspace doesn't work, too. PS: At Ubuntu 10.04.1 x64 I can choose the CPU frequency. [Bug 786897] Re: Can not adjust CPU frequency
The system is generally slower than before. It the content of cpuinfo_cur_freq seems to be correct. For me, it sounds like: Even the driver is broken or cpufreq-selector do nothing (security policies conflict or bad configuration?). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786897 Title: Can not adjust CPU frequency -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 706089] Re: Frequency scaling doesn't work in current kernels
Please post which CPU you have and the contents of the following files - after trying to scale the frequency: /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq (normally needs root privileges to read) /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/706089 Title: Frequency scaling doesn't work in current kernels -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 786897] Re: Can not adjust CPU frequency
I don't have problems frequency scalling at Lucid's default kernel (2.6.32.X). There it works perfectly (via liveCD). Linux 2.6.35.X (which is installed default by Maverick) doesn't work due of ACPI problems. Therefore this bug is not a duplicate of #706089. PS: At whose who affects this bug, too: Please post informations about the CPU and the content of the files from post 2 (see above).

[Bug 636300] [NEW] boot progressbar too slow at solar theme
Public bug reported: I set the "Solar" theme to my default plymouth theme. I recognized that the progressbar only fills to 1/3 of is length (compared to the same theme at Fedora). The boot duration is 20 seconds at my system. I tried a workaround at /var/lib/plymouth/boot-duration, but my changes are erased at the next restart. How the progressbar can be fixed to use the full length? ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- boot progressbar too slow at solar theme https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/636300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
