Have the same problem with Ubuntu LTSP Server. My GPU is GF8100 IGP.
Low importance and nobody assigned looks lamentably.

[Bug 549962] Re: Rhythmbox tray behaviour doesn't make sense

That was completely stupid design decision.
Wasn't it much better just to show "non technical users" that there is a second 
button on their mice and "Oh, wow, we have cool another button that shows 
context menu" instead making _that_annoying_ usability disimprovement?
