Just upgraded to feisty and all work well. I didn't change any
configuration. Just works.

Thanks

[Bug 88828] Re: mount_point cannot contain the following characters: newline, G_DIR_SEPARATOR (usually /)

2007-04-22 Thread Lorenzo Ferrara
Sorry,
problem is still here.

But changing this

system/storage/drives/_org_freedesktop_Hal_devices_storage_serial_Samsung_YP_U1_0002F9AFB0884505/mount_point

from '/media/samsung_1gb' to 'samsung_1gb' resolves it.

Thanks to all!!

that is involved.

More on the topic:

If I unmount the volume using gnome then gnome-umount gives me:
-
Cannot unmount volume
The volume 'samsung1gb' was probably mounted manually on the command line.
Details
Device to unmount is not in /media/.hat-mtab so it is not mounted by HAL
-

And the volume is not unmounted.
dmesg doest not give any info.

When I insert the digital player in the usb slot I get the error shown in the
firt post and the volume gest mounted but not in
/media/samsung1gb/

but in
/media/sda1/

[Bug 435228] Re: ltsp doesn't boot due to mount errors in initrd

2010-02-01 Thread Alex Ferrara
I have recently installed a 64bit Karmic server, upgraded all packages
to be up to date, and installed LTSP. I configured a i386 LTSP client to
be booted via PXE and I have this exact issue booting Intel dual-core
atom clients.

Sometimes they boot, sometimes they stall at the screen in the original
bug report, and sometimes they stay at that screen for a little while
and then continue to "Starting LTSP server"

Any insight would be appreciated.

[Bug 649884] Re: 2.6.32-25 has affected wireless connectivity

Should I first boot up with 2.6.32-25 before running the terminal
command you specified? (I'm currently running 2.6.32-24 boot so that I
can connect to the 'net.) Or does it not matter?

Please advise - thanks!

[Bug 649884] Re: 2.6.32-25 has affected wireless connectivity

2010-10-02 Thread Ed Ferrara
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

Hello -- hope I can find a bit of help... or at least a confirmation of
my own suspicions. I am not a techie (as you'll probably be able to
tell from my questions below), but I've become a huge Ubuntu
fan/supporter/evangelist over the past year, and I've finally run into
  my first real problem.

I'm currently running 10.04 with Linux kernel 2.6.32-24 on an ASUS EEE
PC 1000HA netbook (and loving it!)

Every night before shutting down, I run update manager and install the
updates for the day and last night was no different. When I booted up
this morning, everything seemed fine except for the fact that my netbook
could not connect to my wireless internet connection. It could see the
router, and it tried to connect, but never did. Reboot. Retry. Same
  deal -- couldn't connect.

Remembering that I had noticed that last night's update was to the Linux
header(s), bringing them to 2.6.32-25, I rebooted and selected the
previous system version (2.6.32-24). Everything went fine, and I'm now
able to connect to the internet.

Is there a problem with the latest build that would explain my problem?
And, if a fix is generated, will I be able to access it from my current
system (or will I need to update from 32-25)?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this for me!

[Bug 649884] [NEW] 2.6.32-25 has affected wireless connectivity

2010-09-28 Thread Ed Ferrara
Public bug reported:

[Bug 2098730] Re: Kernel 6.8.0 memory leak

2025-03-11 Thread Marco Ferrara
I have the same problem (until kernel version 6.8.0-55-generic).
I upgraded manually the kernel to 6.8.12-060812-generic and I can confirm the
issue is fixed.
I hope this can help to verify the differences in the change log of the two
kernels.
