Re: [Bug 390584] Re: vnc connession generate a gdm segfault error
Dear Sir, I am sorry, but I cannot understand what do you want that I do I had followed the procedure as you indicate and I had just attached my crash file in the bug segnalation Do you want that I open a new bug with the content of my crash file ? Wishes, Emilio Defranco - Original Message - From: "Sebastien Bacher" To: Sent: Monday, June 22, 2009 12:37 PM Subject: [Bug 390584] Re: vnc connession generate a gdm segfault error --===GMAIL-0CCE711D==Content-Type: text/plain; charset=tf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) -- vnc connession generate a gdm segfault error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390584 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Re: [Bug 390584] Re: vnc connession generate a gdm segfault error
Dear friend, I am happy to inform you that the problem segnaled about this bug is resolved updating the gdm package from version 2.20.7-0ubuntu1.1 to the version 2.10.10-0ubuntu2. I have downloaded the new version and have installed it with dpkg -i command. The dpkg told me some thing about unresolved dependencies, but at the end of process gdm --version tell me 2.20.10 and vnc and all rest of computer working fine. I hope that this can help you to understand what is the problem and I hope that can be userfull for other user with the same problem.
