[Bug 465591] Re: [kubuntu] NetworkManager default unmanaged

2009-12-10 Thread dusoft
this is outrageous, first on upgrade system changes my default config,
which managed=true and everything worked to false and now even after
connecting computer via fixed connection eth0 at different network, it
is absolutely unable to connect.

there is no reason that it: overwrites my config and that default config
is not set to managed=true !!!

[Bug 1717608] [NEW] Invisible text (fonts) in SDDM login screen

2017-09-15 Thread dusoft
Public bug reported:

See this reported bug (screenshots) that affects Kubuntu Artful Aardvark Beta 1:
https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/892

Text is invisible, changing theme or font does not help. Same thing
happens for the lock screen, where entering password shows whitespace,
but no asterisks.

2017-09-20 Thread dusoft
See resolution here:

Apparently, only English locale works correctly. Any other locale
triggers this bug.

2017-09-20 Thread dusoft
Reconfigure did not work for me.

See update:
https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/892#issuecomment-330970061

This bug is definitely related to the translations / user locale. Only
English locale works correctly, all other locales will trigger this bug.

[Bug 1547953] [NEW] timeanddate calendar shows events from google calendar that are not mine

2016-02-20 Thread dusoft
Public bug reported:

I have multiple calendars shared (of other users) that I have by default
turned off in Google Calendar and check them only from time to time,
when needed.

However, connecting Google account to Ubuntu automatically downloads
also events that are not from my calendar and belong to other (shared)
calendars.

This should not happen by default or rather user should be able to
disabled listing calendar events from the calendars he is not
interested in!

Re: [Bug 1542934] Re: hdmi not working

2016-02-25 Thread dusoft
I can not as it says:
"It appears you are currently running a mainline kernel. It would be
better to report this bug upstream at http://bugzilla.kernel.org/ so
that the upstream kernel developers are aware of the issue. If you'd
still like to file a bug against the Ubuntu kernel, please boot with an
official Ubuntu kernel and re-file."

So I am going to file it there as Ubuntu does not allow me to override
and file the bug report.

[Bug 1085706] Re: pam_ecryptfs: seteuid error

2015-11-24 Thread dusoft
This gets solved on Kubuntu 14.04 / KDE by doing:

$ sudo chown root:root /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kcheckpass
$ sudo chmod 4755 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kcheckpass

This bug reappears after every (system?) upgrade (!!!)

[Bug 1447282] Re: Does not use encrypted swap when using GPT partitioning + encrypted home directory (ecryptfs)

2016-02-17 Thread dusoft
Also, affects installation in GUI, when basically nothing indicates a
password (or just pressing Enter key) is required ans system waits and
waits until user opens console details and see what's happening. Quite
annoying for users unaware of this as package installation waits for
user interaction *without indicating so*.

I don't have access to the newer version as Ubuntu repos don't offer it.

I confirm. I have just updated Kubuntu from 11.04 to 11.10 and every
settings in knetworkmanager has been forgotten. No wifi networks, I used
to connect to, no monile broadband etc. Shameful.

[Bug 149483] Re: Pidgin unable to connect "Waiting for network connection"

2012-01-04 Thread dusoft
I confirm. Latest Kubuntu, KDE 4.7.3, Pidgin 2.10.0.

Always happens when connecting to mobile broadband or wifi. It seems
that pidgin inly polls network manager once (after the boot) and then
just stays in that waiting state forever.

User must go to the manage accounts and disable and then re-enable them
all. annoyance.

** Changed in: pidgin (Ubuntu)
   Status: Invalid => Confirmed

[Bug 865032] Re: digikam cannot connect to PTP cameras

2012-02-20 Thread dusoft
it works after adding ppa above and doing full update / upgrade process.
however, this bug is Major and thus grave to many camera users,
therefore it should have been fixed long ago, specially as digikam was
working wonderfully before.

Re: [Bug 389433] Re: connection to samba working locally, but remotely getting error Receiving SMB: Server stopped responding protocol negotiation failed

2010-08-09 Thread dusoft
Hi,

I have since reinstalled samba, deleted the config and created a new one. It
works OK now. That means, Samba had some configuration bug that must have been
introduced during update.

I am not able to reproduce it nowadays.

BR,

Daniel
