[Bug 174816] rythembox tries to sync with the wrong folder when using a sony playstation portable

2007-12-07 Thread dns_server
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox detects when I connect my play station portable but fails to sync as
it is trying to sync with the wrong music directory.
The path that rhythmbox is currently "file://media/DEVICE/PSP/MUSIC" but the
correct path should be "file://media/DEVICE/MUSIC".
Any mp3 that is put in the /MUSIC directory can then be played from the device.

[Bug 204587] [NEW] exale has a too big minimum size to be used on an eeepc

2008-03-21 Thread dns_server
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: exaile

I use exaile on my eeepc but it is not usable as the bottom row of
buttons are not visible. The row of buttons previous, play, stop, next,
status bar clear playlist are not visible leaving the status bar as the
only way of controlling playback.

The cause of this problem is the width request and height request
properties are set in the glade properties to be 800 and 535 making it
too big for the eeepc which has a screen of 800x480.

To fix the problem you can edit exaile.glade and change the width
request to 750 and height request to 450 (or smaller) to allow the whole
window to be shown. I would recommend setting the minimum size to be
550x400 as a reasonable minimum size.

[Bug 538694] [NEW] default built-in configuration is used even though i have created an xorg.conf

2010-03-14 Thread dns_server
Public bug reported:

I am running an alpha version of lucid:
I currently have a bug with the nouveau driver, to temporarily boot back into a
workable system i am trying to avoid loading this broken driver.
I have edited my /etc/xorg.conf file as attached to only load the VESA driver.

upon booting the system it instead ignores my wishes and loads the built in
configuration:
(==) Using default built-in configuration (39 lines)
(==) --- Start of built-in configuration ---

This is a regression in behaviour and is dangerous as in my case it
loads a driver other than the one i specified and i am left with a
system that does not boot correctly.

[Bug 441638] Re: upstart job keeps restarting a dying gdm

2009-11-04 Thread dns_server
In my case the nvidia kernel module was not built correctly built (it
was resolved a day later) causing this problem.

It is simple to reproduce just create a bad xorg.conf, this can be done
by making a spelling mistake, having the wrong driver ie the nvidia
driver marked in the xorg.conf when the driver is not installed etc.

[Bug 456286] [NEW] failsafe x is not working in karmic

2009-10-20 Thread dns_server
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Karmic no longer fails back to a known good fail safe graphics configuration if
x crashes.
Instead X is continually being restarted upon failure.
This is a regression and is most likely related to how xsplash is being used.

To recreate this bug start the computer with a broken xorg.conf
configuration.

In my case i somehow no longer had the kernel part of the nvidia driver
installed.
X would then start and report that the kernel module could no longer be found,
It would then restart as X has crashed.

Having a package fixed in one update system is the wrong solution where there

[Bug 752360] [NEW] error message label not cleared once authenticated

2011-04-06 Thread dns_server
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-control-panel

Ubuntu 11.4 beta.

Below are the steps that i performed to create the problem.

I have started the ubuntu one client, navigated to the services tab and i was
prompted that i can install additional packages.
1. I clicked the button to install the additional packages.
2. I incorrectly specified my password, this updated an error message label in
the main application.
3. i correctly authenticated.

The progress bar suggested that the installation was proceeding (it was)
but the label still suggested that i still needed to give my
credentials.

Upon restarting the application the preference panel acts as normal.

[Bug 752375] [NEW] btrfs + lvm + dmcrypt grub command line options

2011-04-06 Thread dns_server
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

Using the 11.4 beta alternate install cd to set up dmcrypt > lvm >
btrfs linux will not boot.

The root cause of the problem is btrfs acts different to other file systems and
contains sub volumes.
In order to boot when you have a btrfs file system you need to add another
option to the linux command line:
rootflags=subvol=@

where @ is the name of the default subvolume.

Below is the lines from a working grub2 config.
