[Bug 359197] Re: [zd1211r][ZyDAS WLA-54L WiFi] Crashes Ubuntu 9.04 on boot, when the WLAN stick is attached
whoops, sorry the driver is zd1211rw , sorry for the typo. that's strange. I've now a Fritz!WLAN Usb Stick with Ndiswrapper and the error does not occur anymore. But when I connect my ZyDAS stick to the pc the same happens as mentioned in the description. Maybe that is because of my location (germany)? [Bug 359197] [NEW] [zd1211r][ZyDAS WLA-54L WiFi] Crashes Ubuntu 9.04 on boot, when the WLAN stick is attached
Public bug reported: When I've my "ZyDAS WLA-54L WiFi" attached to my PC during startup, Ubuntu 9.04 crashes. The crash occurs just after the boot bar has been finished, the screen flickers and then I'm on the commandline for a few seconds and then the screen turns black. The only thing that I can do is restarting. When I remove the USB Stick before booting and put it in after login everything (except the Networkmanager) works. When I start the networkmanager, the whole system crashs again (bars are beeing removed and I'm unable to do anything...again) when I use the trayicon, everything works. I've attached the specific area out of the systemlog, when starting with attached USB stick. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [zd1211r][ZyDAS WLA-54L WiFi] Crashes Ubuntu 9.04 on boot, when the WLAN stick is attached https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359197 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 148633] WLAN: WEP Hex must be typed in to connect in gutsy
Public bug reported: When I have Ubuntu Feisty Fawn on my Laptop, the Network Manager/Keyring Manger asked me to enter the password of the keyring manager and the Network Manager read out the WEP Key (Hex 128 Bit). Now in Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon Beta I must wait ca. 1 Minute then the Network Manager ask me for the Hex key(!). I looked in the keyring manager, but there it stand fine and clear to read out (the Hex WEP Key). Now I'm a little bit confused about it, 'cause I don't know: Is it a bug or a feature? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- WLAN: WEP Hex must be typed in to connect in gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148633 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 50837] Re: "Mark All Upgrades" removes all previous markings
as it seems the bug has not been fixed (I can reproduce it in Ubuntu 10.10) and I am almost sure about what the problem is. for reference: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~synaptic- developers/synaptic/trunk/annotate/head%3A/gtk/rgmainwindow.cc following functions are part of this problem (if I'm right): void RGMainWindow::cbUpgradeClicked [this is the function that is triggered when someone clicks the "Upgrade" button in synaptic] bool RGMainWindow::askStateChange [this function is triggered by cbUpgradeClicked] Let's look at function cbUpgradeClicked. look for this line: me->askStateChange(state, nullVector); (atm it's line 3142) =explanation of the quite obvious but noteable for someone like me who don't know c++/synaptic source code The called function asks the user if he really wants to install the packages and lists the packages that should be installed. Now, in our case, instead of showing all packages, it only lists the packages that were aquired by the upgrade function. The cause of this is the state variable, which has (as far as I understand the source code, sorry I've never looked at it before) the packages which should be installed/upgraded/removed whatever. If you click "no" in this change window, you'll get your marked package back, which shows us that it was in the state variable 9 lines above, where it says "me->_lister->saveState(state);" I'm not almost sure what that line does, I tracked it down to http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~synaptic-developers/synaptic/trunk/annotate/head%3A/common/rpackagelister.cc function "saveState" but I can't find any type named pkgState, so I can't say what it "save" function does. My best guess is, that it creates a shadow-copy of the state variable and resets it. == The only way I see here is to shadow-copy the state variable before calling saveState, then call saveState and before calling "askStateChange", merge "our" shadow-copy with the state variable, so that _all_ changes are included in this variable. Why I'm not doing this and uploading a text file with the changes: I don't know how to do this in C++. I don't even think I could do it in C#/Java because I don't know the type definition of "state" or how to handle it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50837 Title: "Mark All Upgrades" removes all previous markings -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
