[Bug 243664] Re: Another FF3 Freeze when very overloaded

2008-12-01 Thread DarkStar
I have similar problems. I have a bunch of tabs open as well as 4 to 6
firefox windows open with 14 or more tabs open in each firefox. This
machine worked perfectly with Ubuntu 8.04 and Firefox 3.0.4 and I never
had any problems except for firefox just closing all windows after it
had run for 5 or 6 days. I would just restart firefox and restore the
session. However since I updated to Ubuntu 8.10, same machine, same
hardware memory etc. Firefox locks up and you cannot do anything but
'killall -I firefox' and then restart it. But worse yet is that after
firefox is running for more than 10 or so hours it starts to slow down
and then again the only way to fix it is to killall. I have checked
other applications and they all work and are unaffected, this only seems
to happen with firefox. I do find it strange that it is so much worse in
Ubuntu 8.10. Any ideas?

[Bug 245044] Re: totemwontplay anything

2008-11-08 Thread DarkStar
This software does not play anything. It opens it then does nothing. I
noticed the other day if I leave it for 10 minutes it really is playing
it but so slow that 10 minutes equals 1 second. I have reinstalled
Ubuntu 3 times nothing fixes it. I have Run Ubuntu in Live mode, still
nothing. I loaded Ubuntu on 3 new machines, clean hard drives, it still
does the same thing. v8.04 and v8.10. What is up???. All machines have
tested perfectly for hardware. I loaded Windows XP on all machines after
the Ubuntu and the video and audio play perfectly...so it is not a
hardware issue. One machine is even a laptop. Ideas? I really love
Ubuntu and would love it more if it played my movies and MP3s.
Thanks

[Bug 292973] Re: X apps are receiwing BadAlloc when working over ssh

2009-02-05 Thread darkstar
Solution for unpatched servers:
This should be set on the (unpatched) Solaris machine, then it should work:

setenv GTK_IM_MODULE gtk-im-context-simple (csh,tcsh)
or
export GTK_IM_MODULE=gtk-im-context-simple (sh,ksh,bash)

[Bug 216699] Re: Browser hangs intermittently waiting for resources to download

2009-01-07 Thread DarkStar
Same problem here, Intrepid 8.10 x64, Firefox 3.0.4. Seems to be random, but
the problem is worse with 8.10 than it was with 8.04 x64 with 3.0b5.
Something I also noticed was that the contents of a tab stays the same after
having clicked a link and it seems to have loaded the new data (so it doesn't
seem to display the new data).

[Bug 337363] Re: Widgets are drawn wrongly in many cases

2009-03-27 Thread Darkstar
I have the same (I think..) problem on a Dell Latitude D610 with an
Intel graphics chipset (00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation
Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03))

When scrolling in Konqueror, there's often some corruption in the upper
half of the konqueror window (page view, not the address bar/menu area).
I can't take a screenshot because the corruption disappears when I try.

I also had similar corruption in the title bar of dragonplayer once but
couldn't reproduce it since.

I'm using the Kubuntu 9.04 beta released today

[Bug 349791] Re: python2.6 crashed while trying to update software repositories

2009-03-27 Thread Darkstar
Seems the crash was because I accidentally added "cdrom://..." as a
repository, which in turn makes apt-get update fail if no CD is
inserted. I guess the python code doesn't handle errors very gracefully
:)

[Bug 349845] [NEW] [Dell Inc. Latitude D610] suspend/resume failure

2009-03-27 Thread Darkstar
Public bug reported:

OK here's another one about Dell Laptops failing to suspend/resume

I tried Suspend-to-RAM and Suspend-to-Disk today, and at first it seemed
to work fine, although I got warnings/errors about Bluetooth on the text
console just before each suspend.

Afterwards I realized that my Wifi (Intel Pro 2200BG) was not working
anymore. I simply rebooted and after logging in again I got the crash
report

[Bug 797356] Re: dhcp server does not support HMAC-SHA256

2013-11-19 Thread Falcon Darkstar Momot
I find that this bug continues to exist in isc-dhcpd-4.2.4.

Also, it affects not only HMAC-SHA256, but HMAC-SHA{1,224,256,384,512}.
The only working algorithm is HMAC-MD5, which we don't want to use for
obvious reasons.

If another algorithm is specified, the server prints to the syslog that
it is "Unable to create tsec structure for %s", and all future DNS
updates are sent only unauthenticated, and are not retried after being
refused. It no longer reports "bad DNS key", but it does warn that the
tsec is missing each time it attempts an update.

[Bug 797356] Re: dhcp server does not support HMAC-SHA256

2013-11-19 Thread Falcon Darkstar Momot
Apparently support has in fact been provided by upstream, which makes it
all the more mysterious that it is lacking. Evidence:

dhcp.sourcearchive.com/documentation/4.2.2/hmacsha_8c_source.html
