[Bug 340151] Re: ICQ protocol update [March 2009]

[Bug 340151] Re: ICQ protocol update [March 2009]
@ Matthias, BooVeMan - Sorry; I'm on Intrepid. I tried reinstalling the facebookchat plugin with no luck. The facebook option is completely gone from the account settings menu. Certainly this could be caused by something else (although it happened immediately after this update) and I am not ruling out user error here, but it seems like removing/reinstalling the plugin ought to have worked. [Bug 45974] Re: Auto-hide in gnome-panel
Here is some additional clarification on this. The original bug report captures the immediate cause of the panel not auto-hiding: "#3 Press to open main menu - Menu opens on screen" Alt+F1 seems to negate the ability of the panel to auto-hide. A simple workaround, until this is fixed, is to add the Cairo/Ubuntu menu back into your panel. By default, the Super (Windows) key opens that menu (if not, you can set it up in System > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts). Using that, instead of Alt+F1, to access your applications menu will not disable auto-hiding, and in fact will not even cause the panel to unhide at all. I've been using this method for over a month now on Intrepid with great success and no headaches. A bug fix is obviously still in order but I thought folks might find this method helpful in the mean time. -- Auto-hide in gnome-panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/45974 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 164908] Re: K9Copy Crashed and caused signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Is there any fix/advice for this bug yet? Happens to me on nearly every DVD, seemingly at random (if I cancel the copy and restart, I may get the error at a different place in the DVD or perhaps not at all). Help?! [Bug 45974] Re: Auto-hide in gnome-panel
I can confirm Alex's comment that this continues to be a problem in Intrepid. It doesn't appear to be dependent on the existence/non- existence of the Main Menu in the panel. [Bug 45711] Re: Volume is turned down after muting
I am experiencing similar behavior to what ethanay reported. Specifically, when I mute via the keyboard's mute button (pretty standard Dell keyboard with a few media buttons on it), then wait a few seconds or more before unmuting, the unmute is successful but the volume has changed from its original level to 0% and I have to turn it all the way back up. This does *not* happen if I mute and then immediately unmute via the same key. Possibly related, when I click MUTE on the gnome app panel's volume icon (set to Master), nothing happens. If I move the volume slider on that same volume control, it works fine. I'll follow Jiri's lead on what info to provide. [Bug 206543] Re: MSN plugin won't save the avatar
Hey guys I think this bug is back. I'm using Empathy 2.30.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.04. If I add an avatar (buddy icon) for any protocol except MSN it works. However, if I add one for MSN it does not save. This doesn't require an Empathy restart; the MSN icon/avatar is completely ignored by Empathy. Steps to reproduce: 1) Launch Empathy. Select Edit > Personal Information > Account: [select MSN account] 2) Click on the blank avatar (buddy icon) image 3) Select a picture file (I have tried .GIF and .PNG) 4) Click "Close" 5) Initiate a conversation using MSN, or re-open the Personal Information dialog; the image is gone. It was not saved. Please let me know how I can assist with troubleshooting this. Another verification. Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. Empathy 2.30.2. Only Yahoo, so far, and successfully worked-around via web messenger suggestion provided above. This seems to reflect the broader issue of Empathy lacking any capacity to block unwanted/spam contacts, a bug that has been known for several years now and remains unfixed (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi). It stands to reason that a "block list" or proper integration with the blocking features that all IM services provide, such as is present in Pidgin and other clients, would likely render this issue moot. silvan's solution (#20) worked for me, on an HP EliteBook 6930p, running Lucid (thanks man - I've been looking for a solution to this issue for a long time!). All of my gconf-editor and power management settings are set to 100% brightness with battery-power dimming disabled. Indeed, when the dimming occurs, it doesn't actually change the brightness setting (it still shows 100%), but the screen is dimmer anyway.
