[Bug 334082] Re: Most mp3 files listed with "Unknown" length

2010-06-05 Thread cschol
I had the same problem in Lucid Lynx. Rhythmbox 0.12.8 would not show
duration "Unknown" and disable the slider bar.

However, installing

gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly

fixed the problem.

I confirmed this by uninstalling gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly, which
brought back the behavior, and installing it again, which fixed it.

later.

[Bug 563878] Re: Ubuntu splashscreen big and ugly after installing ATI/nVidia proprietary graphics driver

2010-10-11 Thread cschol
according to the Ubuntu 10.10 Release notes, this is currently broken
and only shows text :-(
"The logo will not display during boot when using the Nvidia
proprietary driver. (653274) "

Well, this is also happening with the ATI proprietary driver and not
only with the Nvidia proprietary driver.

[Bug 658873] [NEW] empathy shows My Status for MSN as offline

2010-10-11 Thread cschol
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

When connecting to MSN in empathy it shows my own status in the group My
Status as offline. In the Edit->Accounts window I confirm that I am
indeed connected and I can also see all of my contacts, just not my own
status. I also verified with another computer that other people can see
me as online, which they can. For my ICQ account empathy shows the
status correctly as online. I tried removing and readding the MSN
account but that didnt fix the problem.
