[Bug 116326] Re: No audio INTEL HD audio - Realtek ALC268 codec - Toshiba A205-S4577 / Acer TravelMate 6292

2008-08-23 Thread co0lingFir3
i have a Compal IFL90 laptop and sound didnt work at all since Ubuntu Gutsy.
However the mic still does not work in Hardy. I tried the live cd of Alpha 4 of
Intrepid a few days ago and i increased the mic boost and it finally worked
with a headset. The internal mic still ain't working. So there is some progress
but there seems much to be done.
Would be interesting if the mic works for some of you guys with Intrepid Alpha
4 and a headset.

[Bug 260517] Re: Disabled IRC autoconnect not working properly

2008-08-23 Thread co0lingFir3
Ok i confused auto-connect with auto-join since i translated it from german.
The annoying windows are indeed from the irc-server as you mentioned. So is
there a way to disable autoconnect without disabling the account? It'd be great
to simply connect to a irc-server and join a channel by double-click in the
contact list. Or is there a way to suppress this connection messages?
Thanks for your patience.

[Bug 260463] [NEW] SE W800i not mounted automatically

2008-08-22 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

In Gutsy as well as in Hardy mobile phone Sony Ericsson W800i is not mounted
automatically if plugged in via USB. You have to mount it via terminal. I heard
that it did mount automatically in Feisty.
There is however an icon with the name "Memory-Stick Drive" shown in the
"Computer" place in Nautilus. If doubleclicked (or right-click -> mount) it
says that it's not possible to mount the device (see attachment in German).

[Bug 296646] Re: fire fox title bar goes off the screen and is not accesible

2009-01-22 Thread co0lingFir3
Another workaround is to delete the following file (backup first):
~/.mozilla/firefox//localstore.rdf
This sets the firefox icons arrangement back to default. Pressing F11 and then
mini- and maximizing the window was only a temporary fix for me, so I had it to
do this way.

[Bug 345975] [NEW] Unmute not working after reboot

2009-03-20 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

If I mute the audio in Ubuntu 8.10 and then reboot (leaving the audio muted)
the audio is still muted after that - everything is working as it should. But
if i want to unmute it, it does actually unmute the audio but sets the volume
to zero (same effect as mute -> see screenshot). Clicking mute again, mutes the
sound with volume still at zero. I have to manually increase the volume in
order to get sound working again. Note: This behaviour does only occur after
rebooting with sound muted.
I have installed the latest patches and btw i noticed this bug in earlier
version of Ubuntu, afair it existed since Gutsy.

additionally i didnt have this problem at home, where i have a wlan connection

I installed gnome-main-menu (single button for applications, places &

entries of menus which are longer than the height of my screen (e.g.

it "resets" its position to the top item. Hovering over the button at

[Bug 572879] [NEW] Suspend and Hibernate: Waking right up again

2010-05-01 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

I have a Compal IFL90 laptop and suspending/hibernating does not work right in

[Bug 572883] [NEW] Suspend/hibernate goes to "Screen Locked" on Eee 1005

2010-05-01 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

I have a Asus Eee PC 1005 HA netbook and suspend and hibernate don't work at
all in Lucid. It used to work in Karmic, however, so this is kind of a
regression bug.
When I try to suspend or hibernate my netbook it goes straight to the "Screen
Locked" UI as if it had just woken up. My WLAN device is deactivated after that
and I have to manually reactivate it in order for it to resume working.
If I can provide any further information regarding this bug I would be glad to
do so.

[Bug 573750] [NEW] No element in panel

2010-05-02 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apturl

When installing software from a homepage using the apturl package
(apt:...) there is no element in the "currently open windows panel" (the
botton panel for most users). This is confusing as all other windows
have to be minimized or closed in order to find the "lost" installation
GUI. See screenshot for clarification.

[Bug 573760] [NEW] time-admin should be accessible from clock-applet

2010-05-02 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

To change your time you have to go to "System -> Administration -> Time
and Date" which makes no sense since the clock-applet in the panel has
already a preferences option. It would be best to integrate the time-
admin program into the clock-applet preferences dialog or at least make
it accessible from there. This would make it easier for new users to set
up their clock (if they didnt so during the installation) and enable NTP
sync.

[Bug 572197] Re: Bluetooth adapter not detected

2010-05-02 Thread co0lingFir3
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 416487 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416487

I don't think this is a duplicate as in bug #416487 it
1) didn't work with in 9.04 or 9.10 while it worked for me in those releases,
and
2) he says he "cannot get the bluetooth manager to find bluetooth mice or
nearby computers", doesn't say anything about "your computer does not have any
bluetooth adapters plugged in".
Furthermore I have a 1005HA-PU. Could be that that model ships with a different
bluetooth adapter.

I also attached the output of lsusb. In the last lines of /var/log/kern.log and

[Bug 587974] [NEW] Impossible to select "encrypt file list too" with 7zip

2010-05-31 Thread co0lingFir3
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

Hello,

when creating a new 7zip archive with file-roller it is impossible to
tick the checkbox for "encrypt file list too" (although it is _NOT_
greyed out). If this feature is not implemented (yet) the option should
be greyed out. If it is then the checkbox status should change. I
encountered this behaviour on another system as well.

[Bug 322902] Re: incorrect encryption detected when logging on to WPA ad-hoc wireless network

2010-05-25 Thread co0lingFir3
This bug still persists in Lucid. Installing dnsmasq doesn't change
anything. If network-manager is not suppose to support WPA-secured ad-
hoc networks, then that option should not be listed when creating a new
network.

Public bug reported:

I got two kernel oops in a period of 30 minutes.
The first one happened after I updated 10.10 and wanted to restart to complete
the update process. Nothing happened, the system froze. I had to do a cold
start.
The second one happened after I started Ubuntu back up, got idle and after
wanting to enter the password at the screen-saver screen another freeze.
FYI this is happening on a Asus Eee PC 1005 HA PU17 with Ubuntu Netbook Edition.
