[Bug 303742] [NEW] Pidgin crashes if no room's selected when adding to conference
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin Pidgin doesn't check if there are any conference rooms available at all nor if any room is selected when the user attempts. In case when the user doesn't select any room, pidgin crashes. The error message printed to stdout is 'Segmentation fault.' What i'd expect of Pidgin to do is: 1. check if any conference rooms are available, 1a. if not, then display a message that such a room has to be opened/created, 2. check if any room is selected from the list (or even better - to select the first item in the list by default - this way, there'll be always an item selected). I confirm that and personally find it extremely unhandy/impractical and irritating. Well, can't tell about forever - don't have that much time ;-) - but it does seem like it could stay at 100% forever. One more observation: when I change the song manually (that is - when it's not changed automatically), it goes back to normal. -- 100% CPU when playing with or without crossfading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521871 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yeah, I agree.. That's why I asked for some hint on how I can get you more information about the problem. This problem still exists in pidgin. Moreover, if you move the pointer around on several icons, the emoticon window and the whole pidgin becomes unresponsive. ** Changed in: pidgin (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed -- Slow dialog for selecting emoticons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 521840] [NEW] RSS reader hangs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution The RSS reader plugin launches several 'tasks' for fetching RSS feeds (visible on evolution's status bar). The actual number of such tasks varies and depends on how long evolution has been running for. The network timeout that can be configured in the plugin configuration seems to be ignored. I can cancel all but one of the 'fetching feeds' tasks, that is, I can't even cancel all of them - the last one is impossible to be cancelled. [Bug 521871] [NEW] 100% CPU when playing with or without crossfading
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox CPU usage rises to 100% (one core fully occupied) for Rhythmbox, with or without crossfading enabled. When I stop the playing, the CPU usage comes back to normal, but then when I re-play it, it's again 100%. I have to restart the app to get it working normally, but I never know when I'm going to have to restart it again. It's really pissing off especially when the cooler kicks in ;D so please let me know if I could help you doing some tests or something. I've had this problem re-occuring for several months now; I can't quite even tell which version of rhythmbox it was back then. [Bug 281414] Re: Unmuting sound with media keys resets volume to 0
This seems to be fixed in 9.10. Although I can't modify the volume now if the sound is muted: trying to decrease it has no effect, and increasing only unmutes the sound. One might expect it to be possible to increase/decrease the volume while the sound is still muted. It's much better now anyway, many thanks :-) -- Unmuting sound with media keys resets volume to 0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 272089] Re: Show/hide shows the program on the workspace that was active when docked
Sorry if I sound arrogant, but I don't quite approve disregarding this bug report, explaining that 'it's not a bug, it's a feature.' Regardless of whether it was a deliberate decision or an accident that alltray works in such a way now, it doesn't change the fact the users find it confusing and counter-intuitive. Morevoer, the workaround you suggested, Michael, is not what me and probably many other users would expect. Let me explain: when I show (unhide) a docked application, I'd expect it to stay in the workspace I did the showing, so to say. Whereas with the --sticky option it will appear on any other workspace I'd move on to, instead of staying in the one it was shown/unhidden. pidgin, which was mentioned in this discussion, does stay in the workspace where it was originally shown - just like many other applications, which in turn is the probable reason why the users expect alltray to work likewise. I really apologise if you find my tone annoying, it was not my intention. I have a deep sense of gratitude for all the work you've been working. However, I believed I should say that because I am aware that it's very easy to lose the application user's perspective and consider your software almost entirely from the point of view of its creator. -- Show/hide shows the program on the workspace that was active when docked https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272089 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 521871] Re: 100% CPU when playing with or without crossfading
Well, it is reproducible in the way that it re-occurs unfortunately - it's not like it's happened once or twice. How to recreate the bug? All I have to do is just play some mp3's. However, I seem to have no influence on when it goes to 100% on cpu. I think it usually happens after some time it's been playing. Like I said, I've been experiencing this problem for quite a while. I hadn't reported it earlier, because I hoped it'd get fixed eventually :-) Yesterday, I made sure that it isn't related with crossfading or the shuffle being on or off. I realise that my description is very vague, but I don't know actually what kind of information you might find helpful. Just please tell how I can get more data about the problem for you as I really want to help. -- 100% CPU when playing with or without crossfading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521871 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
