[Bug 151044] Re: X freezes after cold boot with Intel 845 chipset
I have an Inspiron 1100 with an i845 chipset. I have the latest Hardy as of 4/8/08. I still have the cold boot problem. -- X freezes after cold boot with Intel 845 chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 117892] Re: i810/intel xorg drivers hang Inspiron 1100
I had this exact same problem. After much twiddling, I found a workaround. Make sure you have the sync rates set. The key setting for me was Option "IgnoreEDID". I have BIOS A32. Section "Monitor" Identifier "Generic Monitor" Option "DPMS" HorizSync 30-70 VertRefresh 50-75 Option "IgnoreEDID" EndSection Additionally, you have to turn off the splash screen in /boot/grub/menu.lst. Find the default boot entry and remove "splash" from the end of the kernel line. -- i810/intel xorg drivers hang Inspiron 1100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117892 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Peter, I have only one AP with my SSID and it is set to G only mode and I continue to have this problem. Oddly my desktop, which is also wireless, has no problem whatsoever. It seems to be tied to the Macbook Pro. -- network-manager roams to (none) ((none)) - background scanning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291760 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
