[Bug 347530] Re: Ethernet controller RTL8111/8168B no gigabit after suspend/resume
I'd like to add that the chip goes back to gigabit speed if I rmmod/modprobe r8169. This should be done automatically during suspend/resume. /etc/default/acpi-support line 84 says it's done but this is not true according to dmesg. -- Ethernet controller RTL8111/8168B no gigabit after suspend/resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 326352] [NEW] Add keyboard shortcut for moving between workspaces
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center I am suggesting a keyboard shortcut that walks through workspaces just like the famous "Move between windows, using a popup window" does. All workspaces would be accessible with one shortcut, so you don't have to think where you want to go and select the shortcut for left/right or workspace number. This is especially useful when you have only two workspaces. Then it's always the 'other' workspace where you want. I'm missing this feature in Ubuntu 9.04 alpha 4, in Gnome 2.25.5. [Bug 484406] Re: Kernel oops always after resume from suspend
I'm still getting these crashes with the latest linux-image-generic 2.6.31.16.29. This is reproducable and it always logs that 'unable to handle kernel paging request' message if it is able to log anything at all. I'm attaching some more samples of that. I did a fresh karmic install on a spare partition and that doesn't have this problem. I'm wondering what could make that difference. I tried with the same kernel versions. Remaining difference is the fresh install doesn't have software raid, only one user account is there, some packages are not installed and pulseaudio is still installed. All that doesn't look like it could make that difference. I'm close to installing the production system fresh and hope the problem will not come back. ** Attachment added: "syslog-pagingBug.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/36505519/syslog-pagingBug.log -- Kernel oops always after resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/484406 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1509764] Re: Machine Check Exception with Broadwell CPU
Is there a way to update release media soon? Because it does not finish installing before MCE hits. Workaround is to put a Haswell CPU in the socket temporarily, or install the harddrive in another machine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1509764 Title: Machine Check Exception with Broadwell CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode/+bug/1509764/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1509764] [NEW] Machine Check Exception with Broadwell CPU
Public bug reported: My system freezes and reboots 30 seconds later. This happens at random times between shortly after boot or up to three ours after boot. My CPU is a Core i5 5675C. I think it is the same problem discussed here https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103351 They have a microcode update as a fix there. All Broadwell CPUs seem to be affected. It does not happen with Fedora 22. There are two workarounds that help for some people: 1. boot with "processor.max_cstate=0 intel_idle.max_cstate=0 idle=poll" 2. Disable speedstep in the bios Both don't work for me. ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "/var/log/mcelog" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1509764/+attachment/4504495/+files/mcelog -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1509764 Title: Machine Check Exception with Broadwell CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1509764/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1509764] Re: Machine Check Exception with Broadwell CPU
I expected this to gain more attention. The current version of Ubuntu is unusable on all Broadwell CPUs. A fix is available in that repository: https://github.com/bgw/bdw-ucode-update-tool.git They talk about it in that kernel bug I linked to above. The fix works for people there and for me. Why don't you include it in linux-firmware if the license allows, or get permission if not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1509764 Title: Machine Check Exception with Broadwell CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1509764/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1512002] [NEW] Annoying dialog "Authentication is required to change your own user data"
Public bug reported: Every few days a dialog pops up saying "Authentication is required to change your own user data" with an entry field for a password. If I type my user's password the dialog will reappear with an empty entry field. If I click on the cross to close the window many times it will be gone, but reappear a few days later. I don't know what this window is for and it makes no difference whether I close it or leave it. I don't use the gnome keyring. This started with Ubuntu 15.04 or maybe with an earlier release, and is still there in Ubuntu 15.10, also on machines I did a fresh install. ** Affects: policykit-1-gnome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512002 Title: Annoying dialog "Authentication is required to change your own user data" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/policykit-1-gnome/+bug/1512002/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
