The problem  if you do not use CD/DVD for more than 30  minutes, and then you 
enter the disk
The device can not read CD or DVD disk
no icon in desktop ..  Disk Utility(no media detected)
no Response + does not light reading + speed cd is weak = sleeping
I've used several ways to activate the device, such .. mount manual..the result 
is no output
Surprisingly, when you restart the computer the device works well

-I have changed the distribution and the computer
-Sometimes cd mount and work after 5 or 10 minutes Or when opening and closing
