2007-04-07 Thread Ahmed
Dear Reinhard

I have downloaded the Ubuntu (GNOME) Feisty Fawn beta and burned it to a CD,
but when I try it it does not detect my resolution correctly, so
unfortunately I am unable to generate a crash file.

If there is any other way I can help, please tell me.

2007-04-08 Thread Ahmed
Hello

Sorry about my last email.

I just tried my Feisty beta CD again, and it detected my resolution
correctly.

I will install Feisty beta, and generate a crash file and attach it to the
bug.

However, this will take some time, as right now my internet off-peak limit
is finished and so I cannot download the libraries required to watch videos.

Public bug reported:

Also,when I pause,skip and take screenshots of a video with totem-xine

Re: [Bug 79162] Re: vlc media player picture black when running beryl

2007-01-13 Thread Ahmed
Dear whom it may concern

Beryl is installed correctly and totem-xine and xine are working
fine, although totem-gstreamer and vlc doesnt work.

I think gstreamer doesn't work with beryl.
Does vlc use gstreamer or xine or another engine?

Anyway beryl is installed correctly, but still the vlc picture is black.
I think this also happened with totem-gstreamer,that's why I switched to
totem-xine.

Please reply to me.

Hello
In the page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace,in part 2 of
Generation,when I enter the command:
> gdb 2>&1 | tee gdb-.txt
(replace program with totem) in the terminal,it gives the message:

I think this is because there is an error in the command.
What is the right command?
What should I do?
Please reply to me.

2007-01-16 Thread Ahmed
Hello
I checked Synaptic for totem-xine dbgsym, and I already have it installed.
I have attached the backtrace with gdb in OpenDocument Text format.
The last two lines (gdb) are there because I pressed Enter on my keyboard.
I can not trigger the crash when I want.Sometimes I can trigger it
easily, and sometimes it requires some effort to trigger it.
I play ISOs created from video DVDs,as well as .flvs downloaded from
Youtube that are converted into normal video formats.
You can download Youtube .flvs converted into normal video formats from

[Bug 1734496] Re: snapper rollback does not work on ubuntu for btrfs

2017-12-12 Thread Ahmed
I tested your workaround with Ubuntu 16.04 with no luck.
1- remove subvol=@
2- also add the same root ID with
UUID=ce4d5d13-5ec7-4b2f-b519-569e04729d1e /.snapshots btrfs
subvol=@/.snapshots 0   1
as OpenSuSE fstab.
3- btrfs subvolume set-default (SNAP NUMBER) /
any help? I need to rollback as easy to do in OpenSuSE.

[Bug 1770345] Re: libvirt not compatible with netplan

2018-05-30 Thread Ahmed
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1764314 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1764314

Hi all,
I've managed libvirt to work with netplan's bridges, look for this example
under Bridging section

https://netplan.io/examples

libvirtd would be configured to use this bridge by adding the following
content to a new XML file under /etc/libvirtd/qemu/networks/. The name
of the bridge in the tag as well as in need to match the name of the
bridge device configured using netplan:

  br0

[Bug 1895591] [NEW] I'm trying to upgrade ubuntu from 18.4 to 20 with terminal command and not working

2020-09-14 Thread Ahmed
Public bug reported:

After updating your package information, the essential package
'ubuntu-minimal' could not be located. This may be because you have
no official mirrors listed in your software sources, or because of
excessive load on the mirror you are using. See /etc/apt/sources.list
for the current list of configured software sources.
In the case of an overloaded mirror, you may want to try the upgrade
again later.

[Bug 1906370] Re: [21.04 FEAT] Deactivate CONFIG_QETH_OSN kernel config option

2021-11-02 Thread Ahmed
$ ./gdb -nx -q --data-directory=data-directory ~/a.out -ex "set confirm off"
-ex "file -readnow ~/a.out" http://www-look-4.com/property/houses-in-france/
Reading symbols from /home/simark/a.out...
Reading symbols from ~/a.out...
https://komiya-dental.com/crypto/new-coins/
/home/simark/src/binutils-gdb/gdb/dwarf2/read.c:8098: internal-error:
void create_all_comp_units(dwarf2_per_objfile*): Assertion
`per_objfile->per_bfd-
http://www.iu-bloomington.com/crypto/china-affect-on-crypto/
>all_comp_units.empty ()' failed.

This is a recurring problem that exposes a design issue
https://waytowhatsnext.com/crypto/cryptocurrency-taxes/ in the DWARF
per-BFD sharing feature. Things work well when loading a binary with
https://www.mktrade.fi/muottivalmistus
the same method (with/without index, with/without readnow) twice
http://www.wearelondonmade.com/property/cars-as-house/ in a
row. But they don't work so well when loading a binary with different
methods. See this previous fix, for example:
http://www.jopspeech.com/property/slim-pen-2/

efb763a5ea35 ("gdb: check for partial symtab presence in
dwarf2_initialize_objfile") http://joerg.li/services/kia-rio-price/

That one handled the case where the first load is normal (uses partial
symbols) and the second load uses an index.
http://connstr.net/services/mobile-games/

The problem is that when loading an objfile with a method A, we create a
dwarf2_per_bfd and some dwarf2_per_cu_data and initialize them with the
http://embermanchester.uk/property/chat-themes/
data belonging to that method. When loading another obfile sharing the
same BFD but with a different method B, it's not
http://www.slipstone.co.uk/services/chevrolet-bolt/ clear how to re-use the
dwarf2_per_bfd/dwarf2_per_cu_data previously created, because they
contain the data specific to method A.
http://www.logoarts.co.uk/services/affordable-printer/

I think the most sensible fix would be to not share a dwarf2_per_bfd
between two objfiles loaded with different methods. That means that two
objfiles sharing the same BFD
http://www.acpirateradio.co.uk/tech/forest-fires/ and loaded the same way would
share a
dwarf2_per_bfd. Two objfiles sharing the same BFD but loaded with
different methods would use two different dwarf2_per_bfd structures.
http://www.compilatori.com/services/whatsapp-service/
However, this isn't a trivial change. So to fix the known issue quickly
(including in the gdb 10 branch), this patch just disables all
dwarf2_per_bfd sharing for objfiles using READNOW.

Generalize the gdb.base/index-cache-load-twice.exp test to test all
the possible combinations of loading a file with partial symtabs, index
and readnow. Move it to gdb.dwarf2,
https://www.webb-dev.co.uk/crypto/crypto-fell/ since it really exercises
features
of the DWARF reader.

[Bug 1878596] Re: [Ubuntu 20.04] - Install - problem

2021-11-02 Thread Ahmed
[gdb/breakpoints] Handle glibc with debuginfo in
create_exception_master_breakpoint
http://www-look-4.com/computers/huawei-computers/
The test-case nextoverthrow.exp is failing on targets with unstripped libc.
https://komiya-dental.com/category/services/
This is a regression since commit 1940319c0ef "[gdb] Fix internal-error in
process_event_stop_test".
http://www.iu-bloomington.com/category/services/
The problem is that this code in create_exception_master_breakpoint:
...
  for (objfile *sepdebug = obj->separate_debug_objfile;
https://waytowhatsnext.com/category/services/
   sepdebug != nullptr; sepdebug = sepdebug->separate_debug_objfile)
if (create_exception_master_breakpoint_hook (sepdebug))
... http://www.wearelondonmade.com/computers/car-computers/
iterates over all the separate debug object files, but fails to handle the
case that obj itself has the debug info we're looking for.
http://www.jopspeech.com/health/nvidia-rtx-2060/
Fix this by using the separate_debug_objfiles () range instead, which does
iterate both over obj and the obj->separate_debug_objfile chain.
http://joerg.li/health/xiaomi/

Tested on x86_64-linux.

[Bug 1876011] Re: Kernel Panic when dasd-fba device is selected for install

2021-11-02 Thread Ahmed
This patch fixes a segfault seen when attaching to a process on Solaris.
The steps leading to the segfault are:
http://www.compilatori.com/tech/xiaomi/
 - procfs_target::attach calls do_attach, at this point the inferior's
process slot in the target stack is empty.
 - do_attach adds a thread with `add
http://www.acpirateradio.co.uk/tech/forest-fires/ _thread (&the_procfs_target,
ptid)`
 - in add_thread_silent, the passed target (&the_procfs_target) is
   passed to find_inferior_ptid
http://www.logoarts.co.uk/tech/drone-cameras/
 - find_inferior_ptid returns nullptr, as there is no inferior with this
ptid that has &the_procfs_target as its process target
http://www.slipstone.co.uk/tech/express-van/
 - the nullptr `inf` is passed to find_thread_ptid, which dereferences
   it, causing a segfault
 - back in procfs_target::attach, after do_attach, we push the
http://embermanchester.uk/technology/telegram/
the_procfs_target on the inferior's target stack, although we never
reach this because the segfault happens before.
http://connstr.net/tech/mars-surface/

To fix this, I think we need to do the same as is done in
inf_ptrace_target::attach: push the target early and unpush it in case
the attach fails (and keep it if the attach succeeds).
http://joerg.li/tech/cars-comparison/

Implement it by moving target_unpush_up to target.h, so it can be
re-used here. Make procfs_target::attach use it. Note that just like
is mentioned http://www.jopspeech.com/tech/xiaomi-headset/ in
inf_ptrace_target::attach, we should push the target
before calling target_pid_to_str, so that calling target_pid_to_str ends
up in procfs_target::pid_to_str.
http://www.wearelondonmade.com/tech/driving-assistant/

Tested by trying to attach on a process on gcc211 on the gcc compile
farm.

[Bug 1447038] Re: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox, and VMWare

2021-11-02 Thread Ahmed
In collect_register() function of arc-linux-tdep.c, the "eret"
http://www-look-4.com/travel/london/
(exception return) register value is not being reported correctly.

Background: https://komiya-dental.com/shopping/buy-android/
When asked for the "pc" value, we have to update the "eret" register
with GDB's STOP_PC. The "eret" instructs the kernel code where to
jump back http://www.iu-bloomington.com/shopping/hatchback-cars/ when an
instruction has stopped due to a breakpoint. This
is how collect_register() is doing so:
https://waytowhatsnext.com/shopping/xbox-release-date/

--8<--
  if (regnum == gdbarch_pc_regnum (gdbarch))
http://www.wearelondonmade.com/travel/london/
regnum = ARC_ERET_REGNUM;
  regcache->raw_collect (regnum, buf + arc_linux_core_reg_offsets[regnum]);
-->8-- http://www.jopspeech.com/travel/london/

Root cause:
Although this is using the correct offset (ERET register's), it is also
http://joerg.li/travel/london/
changing the REGNUM itself. Therefore, raw_collect (regnum, ...) is
not reading from "pc" anymore. http://connstr.net/travel/london/

Consequence:
This bug affects the "native ARC gdb" badly and causes kernel code to jump
to addresses after the breakpoint and not executing the "breakpoint"ed
http://embermanchester.uk/travel/london/
instructions at all. That "native ARC gdb" feature is not upstream yet and
is in review at the time of writing [1].

A problem internal to GDB has been detected,
further debugging may prove unreliable.
Quit this debugging session? (y or n)
http://www.logoarts.co.uk/category/computers/

This is because the Python code (typy_range) blindly reads the high
bound of the type of `items` as a constant value. Since it is a
http://www.iu-bloomington.com/category/computers/
flexible array member, it has no high bound, the property is undefined.
Since commit 8c2e4e0689 https://komiya-dental.com/category/computers/
("gdb: add accessors to struct dynamic_prop"),
the getters check that you are not
http://www.go-mk-websites.co.uk/category/services/ getting a property value of
the wrong
kind, so this causes a failed assertion.
http://www.slipstone.co.uk/category/computers/

Fix it by checking if the property is indeed a constant value before
http://embermanchester.uk/category/computers/
accessing it as such. Otherwise, use 0. This restores the previous GDB
http://fishingnewsletters.co.uk/category/services/
behavior: because the structure was zero-initialized,
http://connstr.net/category/computers/ this is what was
returned before. But now this behavior is explicit and not accidental. But
now this behavior is explicit and not accidental. But now this behavior is
explicit and not http://the-hunters.org/technology/new-robot/ accidental. But
now this behavior is explicit and not accidental. But now this behavior is
explicit and is explicit and not accidental.
http://joerg.li/category/computers/
Add a test, gdb.python/flexible-array-member.exp, that is derived from
gdb.base/flexible-array-member.exp.
http://www.jopspeech.com/category/computers/ It tests the same things, but
through the Python API. It also specifically tests getting the range
from the various kinds http://www.wearelondonmade.com/category/computers/
of flexible array member types (AFAIK it wasn't
possible to do the equivalent through the CLI).

Looking at the assembly instructions reveals that we're dealing with the

that should never be interrupted, in this
case by the debugger's implicit breakpoints: http://connstr.net/category/travel/

Lines 3 until 5 (inclusive) are supposed to be executed atomically. Therefore,
http://fishingnewsletters.co.uk/crypto/kelleci-bay/
GDB should never (implicitly) insert a breakpoint on lines 4 and 5, else the
http://www.compilatori.com/category/travel/
program will try to acquire the lock again by jumping back to line 3 and
gets stuck in an infinite loop. https://www.webb-dev.co.uk/category/technology/

The solution is to make GDB aware of these patterns so it inserts breakpoints
after the sequence -- line 6 in this example. The solution is to make GDB aware

2009-01-29 Thread Ahmed Faissl
I don't have gzine installed at all..!!
But I Came out with a good handsom way..
from your system menu (or settings in kde) launch the Hardware Testing wizard.
and do all the testing, don't skip anything. and preferably submit it to
launchpad. (i did) :)
then do your usual 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' thing
that nice wizard seem to reconfiguring the HAL info..
I think that solved it :)

Binary package hint: bootchart

I am running 2.6.27-7-server on my system, and after installing bootchart was
not able to get a chart to appear in /var/log/bootchart after trying through
multiple boots.
After I booted off the generic kernel, 2.6.27-7-generic, I was able to get a
chart. the initial setup of bootchart should update all the initrd images, but
for some reason it does not.

[Bug 292941] [NEW] Adept Manager should have text labels for icons [Usability]

2008-11-02 Thread Ahmed Osman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: adept

Adept Manager lacks text labels for the icons, only tooltips are
available. This makes filtering results incredibly difficult as the
icons themselves do not indicate their function, forcing a user to
scroll through all the results.

This appears to have been fixed in #66040, but doesn't look to be fixed.

[Bug 238849] Re: Unable to type in Arabic

2008-06-24 Thread Amr Ahmed
Hello,

I was wondering if there's really no solution to this. There must be a
way to reproduce this bug. I still have to go through steps 3) and 4) if
I want to type in Arabic. The keyboard settings as to language layout
are simply lost the moment I re-boot the machine.

Please help. Thanks.

[Bug 238849] [NEW] Unable to type in Arabic

2008-06-10 Thread Amr Ahmed
Public bug reported:

hello

I am using an HP Pavillion 2530 laptop. The laptop was bought in the
Middle East and has both Latin and Arabic characters on its keyboard.
The keyboard model (as detected automatically on both Gutsy and Hardy
8.04) is "Generic 105-key (Intl) PC".

Before switching from Gutsy to Hardy Heron 8.04 (fresh installation -
main language: USA English) I was able to type Latin and Arabic
characters on any kind of format (OO.org writer, Stardict, Firefox, etc)
by clicking on the keyboard indicator. To do this, I simply had to
update the language support (without downloading the Arabic package),
add Arabic to the keyboard's layout (system.preferences.keyboard>layout)
as well as to OO.org writer (tools.options.language settings).

On Hardy 8.04 this is not working. Wherever I need to write in Arabic
(and click on the keyboard indicator)...all I get is Latin characters.
All the settings are as they were in Gutsy. I tried to download the
Arabic package from system>administration>language support, and found
some SCIM program sitting on my deskbar. If I'm on an OO.org writer
documents, it works like the keyboard indicator - so in theory I can use
it there to type Arabic. Anywhere else, though (internet browser,
dictionaries, etc) it doesn't work.

If I use SCIM to write in Arabic on an OO.org writer doc, though, it's a
complete disaster. At least one third of the keys on the keyboard do not
input an Arabic character at all - some strange symbols come up instead.
In short: it can't be used to type Arabic. I then tried to the following
things, to no avail:

- uninstall the Arabic package from language support
- unclick "enable support to enter complex character" on language support
- a combination of these two + using keybord indicator instead of SCIM and the
other way around for each combination.

This is a serious issue, and I'd be extremely grateful if a solution is
found. Please let me know if there's anything you need to know to solve
this.

Many thanks for taking the time to go through this.
