[Bug 299278] [NEW] [DarkRoom] insufficient contrast in Firefox Preferences window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-artwork When using the DarkRoom theme in intrepid (8.10), the Preferences window in Firefox has text that is nearly unreadable. In particular, I am referring to the "Main", "Tabs", "Content", "Applications", "Privacy", "Security", and "Advanced" headings across the top of the preferences window. See attached screenshot for example. Note that the Add-ons window in Firefox exhibits the same undesirable behavior. ** Affects: ubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [DarkRoom] insufficient contrast in Firefox Preferences window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299278 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 299278] Re: [DarkRoom] insufficient contrast in Firefox Preferences window
Perhaps this should be another bug, but the addresses & phone numbers in the Thunderbird address book suffer from the same problem. To see, 1. Go to Tools-->Address Book. 2. Select a name in top pane of the address book window. 3. Look at phone #'s, etc, in bottom pane. -- [DarkRoom] insufficient contrast in Firefox Preferences window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299278 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 46034] Re: Page crashes X
I was browsing a page at ubuntuforums.org today, and the whole OS crashed. I was just about to file a bug report, but this looks similar. The attached html file will do the trick. Can anyone re-produce this? [Bug 576066] Re: ums_cypress missing from lucid server cd
I can confirm this bug. Well, actually, a very related bug: the lack of ums_cypress.ko on the ubuntu-10.04-alternate-amd64 CD prevents me from successfully completing the install on a PC with an external CD-ROM drive that has a Cypress Semi chipset. I have posted a workaround here, which might also work around this problem -- http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9365450 -- ums_cypress missing from lucid server cd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/576066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 366796] Re: Entire system crashes in Jaunty periodically
Seeing the exact same behavior here on the same hardware: a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Intel GM965 / X3100 graphics chipset. Reiterating above: + mouse pointer still moves around, nothing else works. + only way out is hard reset. + can remotely login, but find absolutely nothing abnormal in log files (syslog, Xorg.0.log, etc). For the record, I don't have slideshow wallpaper nor plasma widgets, so I don't think that's it. I do have desktop effects enabled. This laptop ran fine with Ubuntu 8.10 and 8.04, so something is different here; I suspect the Intel graphics driver. The install of 9.04 was a clean wipe & install. No idea how to troubleshoot this one, but it makes the system unusable. Also, I am using the latest stable Xorg drivers (via the X-Updates PPA), UXA acceleration, and have the workaround for the MTRR bug in place. [Bug 683905] Re: Xorg locks up after crash with Radeon HD5670 and dual-monitor setup
Marc: I am having the same problem and tracked it down to the rotation. If you change the rotation on the second monitor from "left" to "normal", I am pretty sure everything will work. Here is a temporary workaround -- 1) Set all rotations to "normal" in xorg.conf, but have everything else set the way you want it. 2) Start X. 3) Go into ATI Catalyst, and change rotation of desired monitor. Settings will be applied immediately, and everything appears to work (unless you were to now restart the X server at this point -- DON'T!). 4) Go back and edit xorg.conf so that rotations are again set to "normal". This won't affect the current session, but will allow you to reboot without hanging. You'll have to repeat steps 3-4 every time you boot up... [Bug 662258] Re: Nautilus list view file rename text displays badly
Minor point, but another related way to make this issue appear (still requires list mode, 33% zoom as above) is: 1. Right click mouse on a file or folder. 2. Without moving mouse cursor, press the "R" key to select rename from the pop-up menu. Also, for the record, I see this on systems with ATI, nVidia, and Intel graphics cards, suggesting that the graphics driver is not the issue. -- Nautilus list view file rename text displays badly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662258 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 438520] Re: Right Alt key is always selected under "key to choose 3rd level"
I can confirm this bug on multiple systems running Lucid 10.04 (alternate installer). Indeed, if you de-select the alt key under "3rd level", the keyboard layout applet does not remember the setting. However, if I immediately do it a second time, it *does* remember the setting. -- Right Alt key is always selected under "key to choose 3rd level" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438520 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
