[Bug 306088] Re: Flash exits full screen moments after entering it

2009-08-31 Thread adib zaky
I had the same problem after I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10: I was unable to see
most videos in full screen. I am no expert by any means, but here is what
solved the problem  for me:
Right click the video and click Settings on the drop down menu. In the
Adobe Flash Player Settings window that appears (Display), uncheck "Enable
Hardware Acceleration." This does not seem to affect the video quality at all.
I hope someone else will find this simple tip helpful.

[Bug 420147] [NEW] No notification of unread messages (and number thereof) on Buddy List.

2009-08-27 Thread adib zaky
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

I did not have this problem with Pidgin in Ubunttu 8.04. The Buddy
List used to show a notification of any unread messages at the top. The
problem started when I upgraded to Ubuntu.10 (and Pidgin 2.5.2). It
persisted even after I activated the "Message Notification 2.5.2"
Plugin. The "Configure Plugin" of this item includes:

Notify in
IM windows
Chat windows  All 3 checked
Focused Windows
Notification Methods
Prepend string into window title:
Insert count of new messages into window titleAll 4 checked
Insert count of new messages into X property
Set window manager "URGENT" hint.

However, "Buddy List" does not appear anywhere on this Configuration
and, indeed, the List is not affected.,

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/pidgin
NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia
Package: pidgin 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1.4
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: pidgin
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-14-generic i686

** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu)
