[Bug 324043] [NEW] Not all birthdays are shown

2009-02-01 Thread Zash
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Not all birthdays for contacts are shown in the calendar view, or the
clock-applet.
I tried going through all my contacts and setting the birth date +1 day and
back again so I could save. This appears to temporarily fix the issue for that
contact, until I had gone through all contacts and found that it had forgotten
about some of them again.

I got this in terminal after doing "evolution --force-shutdown; evolution" and
then unchecking and checking the checkbox for Birthdays and Anniversaries:
(evolution:17603): calendar-gui-WARNING **: gnome-cal.c:910: Could not create
the query: Backend is busy

And after doing "evolution --force-shutdown; evolution" again that
disappeared and I got this instead:

calendar-gui-Message: Check if default client matches

Everything in the iwstuff file is done at the same time without changing
anything else than prepending with sudo

I think I have seen it work properly (the NM part) once.
It works when running a Ad-Hoc network. Also, nm-tool reports properly
even when nm-applet does not.

[Bug 316954] Re: Compiz crashes on high cpu load

2009-11-23 Thread Zash
> high load (99% cpu) and I switch workspaces (ctrl+alt+bkspc)
Hope you mean ctrl+alt+arrow keys.

Otherwise I can reproduce it by starting a bunch of torrents and
switching back and forth between workspaces until it crashes.

I tried installing all related -dbg packages but it didn't produce
anything that looked useful, basicaly just removing "no debugging
symbols found" from the above gdb trace.

Any suggestions on what else I can do to debug this?

[Bug 448065] [NEW] Virtual consoles broken

2009-10-10 Thread Zash
Public bug reported:

Just updated and rebooted.
After GRUB I got a white ubuntu logo for a few seconds after which it faded to
black.
Here it took longer that usual for this machine, so I tried switching to any of
the virtual consoles to see if there was anything, but it didn't respond.
I then tried using the magic sysrq keys, which worked and I rebooted it.
Same thing happend again, but I waited a while longer, and eventually got a
login screen.
After logging in I tried Ctrl+Alt+F1 but just got the attached gibberish.

[Bug 413302] Re: file --mime returns mimetype and charset separated by space only

2009-10-10 Thread Zash
This appears to be fixed in both hardy and karmic, but not jaunty.

[Bug 448695] [NEW] Login screen loses theme settings

2009-10-11 Thread Zash
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Steps to reproduce (I think):

1. Boot and login
2. Log out
3. Open the accessibility dialog by clicking the relevant icon in the lower
right corner.
4. Click the first option (something about better contrast).
5. Click it again

Expected result:
Theme is reverted to previous (HumanLogin)

Actual result:
Theme is set to whatever was used by your session. Further toggling of the
checkbox just toggles between this and the accessibility theme.

Maybe relevant:
I have uninstalled the accessibility themes.

[Bug 384017] Re: Loading /etc/bash_completion is slow

Or, improving and including the on-demand version of bash-completion
(forgot what it's called)

[Bug 384017] Re: Loading /etc/bash_completion is slow

2009-10-17 Thread Zash
This is what I was thinking of: http://code.google.com/p/bash-completion-lib/
It's not as good as bash-completion, but it's much faster, since it doesn't
load all rules at once.

[Bug 441684] [NEW] Keyboard Shortcuts fails to bind Shift+Number

2009-10-03 Thread Zash
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

For example, I wanted to bind Super+Shift+1 to "Move window to workspace 1" etc
for all workspaces.
Keyboard Shortcuts apparently gets this as Shift+Mod4+! and nothing happens
when I press this keybinding.
Also, it is stored in Gconf as "exclam" and it doesn't seem to
work even if I manually set it to "1".
