[Bug 333672] [NEW] Issues with Gnome resize after xrandr rotate

2009-02-23 Thread Zaki Manian
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Binary package hint: xrandr

I have an intel x200 tablet running with the intel video drivers. I'm
running Intrepid.

When I rotate the screen 90 degrees using xandr, gnome does not properly
redraw the screen. So moving from 1280x 800 moves me to a 800x800 window
area.

I have followed in ubuntu-bug reporting guidlines. Debug info should be
attached.

[Bug 292481] [NEW] [intrepid]Frequent Repairing on Logitech Dinovo

2008-11-01 Thread Zaki Manian
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bluez-utils

So this bug is a change of behavior from Hardy, when the system boots it
needs to be re-paired before the logitech Dinovo Keyboard will function.

In Hardy, once the keyboard was paired with the system it would function
immediately on boot.

There has been some intermittent re-pairing of the keyboard during while
operating the computer. Not sure if this is related.

[Bug 146714] ggobi scatterplot display issues

2007-09-29 Thread Zaki Manian
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ggobi

Ggobi seems to be having trouble rendering scatterplots after the
upgrade to Gutsy.

The display window contains "dead spots" where objects don't render.

Parts of the display refuse to render in response to interactions like

sure.

What I did was

2. sudo apt-get update

3. Used Synaptic to upgrade just maven2 and its dependencies.

4. Removed debian unstable from repositories

WARNING!
Do not do a global upgrade on the debian unstable repos. You will seriously
frag your system and probably have to do a fresh install.

This seems to have given me a function maven.

[Bug 439784] Re: invalid: environment block

2009-10-02 Thread Zaki Manian
Yes the comments above give you a workable way to recover your system.

You need to be able load a live linux operating system that can write
your your filesystem.

I used a live-usb drive. You can use the ubuntu install cd for this
purpose.

After booting into the live cd based environment, you need to mount the
partition on your main system that contains /boot.

Then you can make the necessary modifications to grubenv as per comments
above.

cd /boot/grub
rm grubenv
grub-editenv grubenv create
grub-editenv grubenv set default=0
grub-editenv grubenv list
default=0

This should give a bootable system.

I assume this problem is related to the instabilities in ext4?

2011-10-17 Thread Zaki Manian
Prepending ::: to your IPv4 address fixes the problem.

I tried the upstream debian packages and found the same effect.

Gsoap 2.8.3 can be compiled with an option to disable to setsockopt to
IPV6_V6ONLY. I'm not yes sure if this would be a better idea given the
default response.

[Bug 735727] Re: Nautilus gets stuck in infinite loop on startup

You probably installed the Gnome3 ppa at some point.

I had to run "sudo ppa-purge ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3" twice to revert
nautilus back to a functional state.

You will loose any gnome3 packages you were running like gnome-shell.
